Jesus only became the child, son of god after being baptized. was this symbolic or literal?

John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Matthew 3:16
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.

Jesus was the Son of God at Birth, and was Baptized to demonstrate his relationship with John the Baptist. Who told you that Jesus was not the Son of God until Baptism? Is that Jehovas Witness teaching?

on the day that elijah saw the spirit descend he would know who the son of god was.

10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

12 And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

Jesus became son by a public declaration in another sense at his baptism

Jesus was the son of God in one sense at birth since Mary was the mother, God the father

Jesus was son of God from eternity being the eternally generated God from God, God's image and idea of Himself who is also a person

so depends on what sense you mean

It depends on what gospel we are reading; It's at the baptism for Mark and John because that is where their gospels begin, Matthew and Luke have birth stories.

He is the Son of God, the most high. I insist. Talking to all of you has helped me to know myself better.

He was born the Son of God.

all are born of god. nothing exists apart from god because the spirit comes from god.

Malachi 2:10
Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another?

this is why Jesus taught the prayer of, "Our Father who art..........."

Baptism is a picture, of death and ressurection, dying to the flesh and living unto Spirit,

Jesus did this for allegorical purposes, as the Lord throughout the Bible draws pictures that foretell future events, and their spiritual meanings.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God or God incarnate, as God became flesh and was born through a virgin mother, Jesus Christ is God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are One, with three roles in which God interacts with His creation.

Digressing, water baptism is simply a picture, and it is not a requirement for salvation,on contrary all who accept Christ are baptised by the Holy Spirit (hints: Christ water baptism by John recieve the Spirit, He did to demonstrate the death of our fleah , by putting our faith in God, and recieving His Spirit. simply put the only requirement is faith- accepting Christ's salvation gift, confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of our sins, and rose again on the third day, conquering death, and forever sealing our relationship with Him, in this world of sin, and in the future world's to come, if you believe you are sealed, you are a child of God.

I'll say that there are indications as stated by others in this thread, that all are children of God, and if love exists in your heart, you are sealed, because God is love, and if you love you know God, and are born of God.

John 1:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

you don't believe god is incarnate in all?

you don't believe in a omnipresent god? I AM with you always? or what you do even unto the least of these, you do to I AM?

Of course I do! God is One! and interacts with His children in three persons, these three unique and symbolic persons express God's lovee in infinitely different unique way(while God is infinetly partitionable and in the entirety of all things)

In Heaven God is Spirit, and His thrown is above all, and we effectionately refer to Him as Father or Abba! on Earth God also moves in Spirit known as Holy Spirit, and in the flesh as Jesus Christ, truthfully had we the children of God loved Him and desired to know Him we would only know God as One as I Am as Yaweh, Never the less three distinct and fully developed parts of God exist, God is One and His Spirit animinates and breaths the life giving breath of love upon all, and I know it is not God's will that any should perish, and so I have a deep understanding that is not by the letter but by the Spirit by which we live.

I believe that Jesus Christ is God and God is love, and He loves all of His creation and children, and will never give up on any, in this way we all have God's Spirit within us, and therefore as we do to the least we do unto Him, with that said, why the new covenant was ushered in, by the fufillment of the law, and the order by which God accomplished it, the sacrafice He made and continues to make.

God is love and Spirit, and God became flesh living as a man Christ Jesus, and suffering dying for all, fufilling His salvation purposes, and keeping His convenant promises, both old and new, reconciling us while we are in sin by sacraficing Himself

In order to change the preisthood and usher in the new covenant, the good news, salvation for all people! Legalistically a change of priesthood required sacrafice for the new priest for his sin, as to be clean upon entering the house of the Lord,

knowing this insanity that festered and it's rule and ritual, and the perverson of God and His character and desires, God came to stop this to shed His own blood for those who were being turned away by the priests and holy men, who did so for political gain, and power,

As the hopeless cried out seeking love and mercy in shame they hung their heads low wanting to know God,and being told that they could not by the very ones meant to minister God's love, these rulers and priests would use sin, or birth right, or any other reason that was convient and divisive to lord over othets hoarding power and profiting off of war and suffering ( all this sounds familiar to this time now, funny that)

God states in Isaiah that He never wanted sacrafices or shedding of blood or burnt offerings! He wanted sacrafices of righteousness, faith in God, loving God putting God before their titles and prestige stubbornly the rulers and priests of God's people doubled down hardening their hearts ignoring God hardlining religious ritualistic dogma in the priesthood making a mockery of God and worse oppressing and turning away people who loved God and wanted to know Him, this is a travesty! These people would use their blessings from God and His promises, the annointing as a status symbo,l to benifit themselves!

so God became flesh, and shed His own blood having lived without sin and allowing Himself to be murdered, slaughtered on a cross, by the very ones He came to save saying," Father forgive them they know not what they do" Jesud fufilling the law, in God's great plan of liberation for the oppressed who curse God not because they hate Him but because they hate those who represent Him. This is important regarding the Holy Spirit because in the new covenant that God ushered inGld makes clear we can come straight to Him that we have the seal of God because of Jesus Christ that sin will not separate us and that God's Holy Spirit dwells with us, illiminating any corruption that might try to become between God and His children.

Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ lived sinless in the flesh and sacraficed Himself to put an end to tthe slavery His children were under and show His promises of always being with us and never leaving us guaranteeing His Holy Spirit , and by ressurection promising our ressurection as well, ushering in a new covenant, characterised by faith hope and love,

restoring us all sealing the world with His Holy Spirit, that ministers directly to our hearts the will of God ,revealing God's loving character manifest in our Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrafice, that is a covering of sin forever, requiring no further bloodshed, once and for all!

God reconciled all His children to Himself, bridging our seperation while we are in still in sin, through Jesus Christ, and the recieving of His Holy Spirit . those who were under mosiac law and specifically the vain dogmatic levitical preisthood, did not experince the Holy Spirit as we do, they wanted rules and rituals, they did not desire a personal relationship with God they brought judgment upon isreal by their own hands!

there were the few like David who truly does love God, and desired a personal relationship, and David lived by faith, and was close friends with the Holy Spirt, there were others in pre mosiac times as well who truly loved God, and that love is always demonstarted by faith, by listening to God's Spirit in out hearts and He is not burdensome He does not guilt us or shame us not does He threaten or punish He teaches and loves bless and walks with us delighting in our growth,

truly the new covenant is not new but the story telling isnt told very often either as once again a preisthood and church has developed that divideds excludes judges and condemns while profiting of the needy! The time is coming just know the rule is going to be reordered forever!

God has desired faithful children the whole time, and has drawn near to all who want to know Him, and love Him, thats throughout all time, and culture, all divisons!

if anyone of us in any circumstance, culture, sexuality, time truly wish to know and love God ,He will manifest His Spirit to usus a walk with us! Jesus Christ God in the flesh, got rid of the adulterous festering rule, and preisthood shedding Himself of a covenant by which these people oppressed others and hoarded God as if an item on a shelf,

This is why Jesus Christ is an offense to those who hate God! because they didn't want to know Him anyway, they just wanted the prestige and blessing, the power, and not the love. So alot happened when God became flesh, I could write so much more about this, but iiwill declare you will not be seperated from God if you do not know Jesus Christs name or who He is at all, you will only be seperated from God if you hate God , Jesus Christ is God that is the point, sadly why so few reconized God for who He is,walking with God in the flesh manu never knew it was Hm, because they didn't want to know Him, and makes it me cry, because God is so precious and loving,

Jesus Christ is the savior of all who love, who seek God, and is the condemnation of those who hate Him, that reject His precious love, and run toward darkness biting in anger, cowering in fear just by hearing the name of Jesus Christ, and I think they would likely melt (im kidding , lol or am II) ln God's presence ,

Even these ones that hate, God andand ironically are often our leaders , authorities, and preists who love power, and hate love,!

We are to love them everyone the same having compassion in hopes that they will remove their hardness of heart, and return to God. Love them because God loves us, and we know this as He fills our hearts with Jesus Christ's love and Spirit with Himself, giving us faith hope and love.

Promising an end to this suffering realm, one dau away from those who hate,

God is One , All in All, the Alpha and Omega, and He loves us all!

And He also, loves the ones who hate Him, I will praise God's beautiful name, Jesus Christ and sing of His goodness for eternity blessed is the name of Jesus Christ the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the God of gods!

I hope that clears my position up for you. God bless brother

Ephesians 1:9
9making knownc to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

11In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,14who is the guaranteed of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,e to the praise of his glory.

ETA Opening up my bible the Holy spirit guided me to this part the page turned on it's own so I will leave this here .

John 5:39 Jesus speaking -

39You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, you refuse to come to me that you may have life. I do not receive glory from people. I know that you do not have the love of God within you. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. he wrote of me. if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
