Gigantic corporations are no different and no better. I speak from experience having worked for an agency of the federal government for a short time and a major bank and a phone company.
Small business has to be better or go out of business.
And I'll pick Medicare over private insurance every time having suffered through what private health insurance can be like multiple times and known people who have literally had to fight health insurance company bureaucracy for their very lives.
If you automatically ascribe negative things to government (or positive for that matter), you are putting ideology ahead of reality and confirmation bias over the facts.

The standards using precious metals may have been useful in the past, but the amount of precious metals in the world is minuscule in meeting the needs for vast amounts of money and the size of the economies in today's world. Today's precious metals are far more useful in industry and technology.

You mean, manipulate the courts to stack it in favor of one group over another, such as not confirming a justice deliberately for one whole year? Is cheating and lying for Jesus, Christian in your book? Where is love in all this? I don't see it. I'm quite sure Jesus would be surprised to see the Pharisees now calling themselves Christians. Or, actually, maybe not.
It was about power over others then, and it is now. None of which is Christian in the least.
Big corporations never tried to arrest or draft me.
Government has far more power, & is less accountable. So I’ll be more wary of it.
