Chaitanya is the founder of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, which found its world-wide propagation with the Hare Krishnas in the 1960's. Chaitanya (Gaura) and Nityananda (Nitai) are considered as reincarnations of Krishna and Balarama, respectively. Chaitanya is also considered as a dual incarnation of Krishna with Radha's golden skin.
