was there a connection between Vijnanavada of Buddhism and Advaita?

Does anyone know?

Did Advaita borrow concepts from Vijnanavada? it's strange how the concept of a 'true self' or buddha nature crept into later Mahayana, could we say they were inspired by Vedanta?

Is there a connection between those too?

I'm just asking, I'm not advocating for one system to be truer than the other.

Thanks!!

oh, and if there are differences, what are they??

I just read the Lankavatara sutra again, and it's surprising how similar it is to Advaita.

I do not find any difference between 'advaita' and Buddhism. Why should we think that anyone borrowed from the other? These views are much older. Buddha defined it in his time, Sankara defined it in his time. Both are my gurus.
