You should check out the book by William Schnoeblen, Interview with an Ex-Vampire, He claims it is a true story and used to be involved in the occult

Not real in the sense of the fantasy type Dracula...But, there are programs out that depict them as quite sexy, so I could become persuaded to believe. ;)

I love Anne Rice and hate Twilight for that, but back to topic, i don't think so. Tere may have been or even still are blood drinker cults, but drinking blood wold not have more effects than, maybe, eating some flesh.

What IS a vampire per this context?
In this book he describes himself as able to eat human food, but it makes him nauseous and he actually did drink blood. No special powers, but he said the sunlight was detrimental to his health, he went as far as to take a night job. Crosses, garlic, and other traditional "vampire repellants" did not affect him. He claimed that this "Vampirism" came from higher levels in The Church of Satan.

That should be a warning sign right there. The Church of Satan are relatively open about the fact that they like to trick people out of their money.

On the other hand, I suppose that does lend some credence to any claims they might have about vampirism...

Hmmm.....his symptoms don't shout 'Vampire' to me..?

No, but he is no longer a Satanist, He is now a Christian. He still truly believes that The Church of Satan Made him a vampire.

I also think it is a very sad state of affairs that the poll mentions Twilight, but not Anne Rice, or Buffy.

(or the greatest creation of all the Vampire genre, "Forever Knight")
I like the vamps of True Blood myself. Certainly better than sparkly vamps.

Ya, I would stay away from any Church with 'Satan' in its name. Weird how people get twisted?

The Church of Satan holds ideals that many find appealing. (In LaVeyan Satanism that is) Though this is a topic for another thread.

I think the existence of psychic vampirism is obvious.

Maybe. If they are, they'd be like the ones in European folklore and I doubt they'd ever show themselves.

If vampires exist, I really hope its not like those in Twilight.
They are so stale and bland and take themselves too seriously. Like lighten up and tell a joke! Geez!
