Muslims and Christians?

WH.Khos

learning is one way to find good truth
Thank you so much I really appreciate that. My guy friend who is Muslim his name is Malik but that's not his real name. He is from the middle east and his name is so hard to pronounce and so long that he just uses a made up name LOL and I think a lot of middle eastern people may do that here in AMerica.

In New York there is already a foundation from our country.
it can be an example of where we (Indonesians) live our religion peacefully, and give comfort to other religions

asslamungalaikum

Hai...
May name is WH.Khosi
I'm a muslim from the the largest Islamic country in the world (Indonesia), with a Muslim population of 228,608,665 in 2017
with that number we can seize the iron throne (game of throne) hehe ...

please allow me to comment a little, sorry if I make a mistake on my comments

1. Why don't Christians consider Muslims and believe they are children of God?

don't ask me i'm a muslim

2. Don't Muslims worship the God of Abraham from the old testament?

yes
we admit that ibrahim (abraham) is the Rosul (prophet) god

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا Quran Suroh Mariyam :41

"Tell them (Muhammad) the story of Abraham in the Book (Qur'an) is. Verily he is a very righteous man of the Prophet. "

3. Aren't Muslims a part of the old testament?

yes we are
the requirement to be a Muslim is to believe in the holy book before the Koran.

this what quran say :

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ Quran Suroh. 'Ali `Imran [3] : 3

He sent down the Book (Qur'an) to you in truth; justify the previously revealed book and decrease the Torah and the Gospel,

4. I know they called God Allah but this is the God of the old testament right?

Yes...
from the Quranic verse (Ali Imran; 3) above can be concluded so
but sorry I have not been able to show any specific Quranic verses about it.
let it be my homework.

the and
so thank you

Wa Alaikom Salaam Brother
In the Middle East, particularly Syria, Many Christians there speak Arabic and call God by the name of Allah SWT. Thank you for your input on this thread.

Because Islam formed centuries after Christianity and deviates significantly from what they believe to be the word and will of god, regardless of whether or not they worship that same god.
In absolutes, there is no-time and place, rather time and space are creation of the Absolute G-d.

Another is that it also insists that Jesus was only human - although I supposed that might not be a problem for non-Trinitarian Christianity.

That is inaccurate.

19: 30 [Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.

19:31 And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive

19: 32 And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.

19:33And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."

3:55 [Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

3:59 Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.

I will not attempt to refute what you say. I am aware of two ancient writings that appeared around the time or shortly after when Issa PBUH is said to have lived. One writing tells the Christian side, where he is Crucified, dies, and rises into Jenna. The other tells the version that the Muslims like, that says Judas was mistaken for Issa PBUH and Crucified and Issa left Jerusalem. Some think that he went to India, while others think that Thomas went.

In Islam there is no higher reference when can take from other than the Quraan itself. For that reason let me quote from it on that matter.

4:157 And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.

4:158 Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.

That is the definite islamic stance towards the subject. I have yet to encounter a well established explanation of what actually happened and how the people were made to believe that Jesus peace be upon him was crucified. All the interpretations and explanations for me till now are just guesses and theories. To my knowledge, scholars didn't agree or didn't conclude how that happened.

So is an alien from K-PAX a child of God?

Since we believe that God created the universe (meaning all things) then that would be yes. Wouldn't bug US a bit to meet an alien from K-PAX. I might even ask prot to take me back for a visit myself.

BTW, Mormons have ALWAYS believed that there were other planets, and that some of those planets have life...even intelligent life...on them. We have been made fun of because of that, quite a bit.

Sometimes it's nice to be able to go 'nya nya..."

(Not about the extraterrestrial LIFE, of course, since we haven't found any yet, but that there are a lot of planets out there? you betcha.)

Well if you did that you'd be in a quagmire because it would render God discriminatory. If we took the very basic idea that God is the Creator of the universe, and knowing that the universe is really, really big then why in some distant place in space where beings living on a planet called K-PAX, are not also God's children?

I think the problem lies in the definition of 'human being.'

....on a fundamental level, that is, I suppose the level that makes us different from the great apes.

Be careful about what you reveal. You do not want to become unworthy. The ideas about extraterrestrials are not far fetched to me. I find their explanations about Polygamy to be weak, especially after Jacob Chapter 2. I was a member for about 5 or so years. Yeah, so now I am backslidden and sinful.

Uh....huh?

Wait. Never mind. I believe that your post, and any response to it, would be incredibly off topic for this particular thread.

I don't get your point anyway.
