Satan is liar and the father of it

Regarding the matter of people being killed by either Satan or God, just to play devil's advocate (heh), I was thinking about possible differences based on the theological implications.

For one, religion constantly drills into people the concept that "death" is not the end; it's merely a transformation from the physical world to the spiritual world. If this is true, then the act of God killing someone and then taking them into an Afterlife of paradise and happiness, then that may not necessarily be an evil act (if the theology is anything to go by).

It is said that God can create life, then take it away, then recreate it or resurrect it all over again. It is also said that God is the ultimate judge as to whether a soul goes to Heaven or Hell in the Afterlife. These are things that God can supposedly do, which Satan is unable to do.

Of course, this would also beg the question as to why religionists or God would consider life to be so darn important and meaningful that it would be considered such a horrific and abominable sin to take someone else's life. If death is merely a transformation from a limited biological existence to a spiritual Afterlife of paradise, then murderers are actually doing a favor for their victims (if the theology is anything to go by). Essentially, religion makes our own biological lives meaningless, so why would God or any believer be so concerned about "sin" in an existence which is utterly pointless and devoid of any real meaning?

A paradox to be sure.

The truth hurts sometimes. You're arguing against God's right to judge rather than making a case against God for "murder". Ultimately God gave all life and takes all life. Whoever dies is ultimately dead because God decided. I understand (as I told ChristineM) that you're not happy about the existence of death but you have to deal with it anyway. Most people don't like death. It's a hard world and people have to be tough to face the truth.

I've already presented evidence that satan is a murderer. It's not my fault if people don't believe me. If you can't believe Jesus (John 8:44); then I don't see how you'll believe me.
Would you mind pointing out to me where you showed evidence that Satan is a murderer?

Whilst you're doing that allow me to post a few more gems from your god:
  • (4 Kings 2:23-24) God sent two bears to maul 42 kids to death for making fun of a bald dude.
  • (Genesis 19:26) God turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt for breaking a rule she didn't know existed.
  • (Judges 14:1-19) More evidence that God is possibly a low-level mobster: When his pal Samson got married, he was given 30 friends, and he posed them (a completely insane) riddle. Then he made a bet that if they could solve it in a week, Samson would give them all new clothes, but if they couldn't they would give Samson 30 pairs of new clothes. Well, Samson's wife wheedled the answer out of him and then told these dudes, at which point an angry Samson had to pay up. And here's where God comes in — literally, into Samson, giving him the power to murder 30 random people for their clothes. Only a true friend would help you commit mass murder to settle a completely stupid bet.

That is simply not true.

Jehovah is the one who sentenced humans to die, not Satan.

I agree with you about the evil spirits of suicide thing, since some medications "may cause suicidal thoughts or actions"... and meds aren't spirits.

But God said that on the day that mankind ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they would die. Nobody forced them to eat what they should have believed was going to kill them. You have free will, therefore, you are to blame.

Psalm 44:22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have spread out our hands to a strange god; shall not God search these things out? 21 for he knows the secrets of the heart. 22 For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for slaughter.

Zechariah 11:7 "And I will tend the flock of slaughter in the land of Chanaan: and I will take for myself two rods; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Line; and I will tend the flock. 8 And I will cut off three shepherds in one month; and My soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against Me. 9 And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of his neighbour."

This is about the people who refused the Father and the Son. Because they refused to turn back, they are the flock of slaughter. Context is everything.

Huh. Guess not all religions are the same after all. Who knew.

Matthew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Matthew 24:48-51 "And, if that evil servant may say in his heart, My Lord doth delay to come, and may begin to beat the fellow-servants, and to eat and to drink with the drunken, the lord of that servant will arrive in a day when he doth not expect, and in an hour of which he doth not know, and will cut him off, and his portion with the hypocrites will appoint; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth."

Matthew 12:30 "He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad."

The sharpest tools in Satan's shed know that they're tools.

Your opinion based on a faith that is irrelevant to me is worth what?

Edit : The bluntest tools in any toolbox don't realise they are blunt...

... Did I ever say that all suicide was caused by demons? Besides, many drugs open people up to demons.

  • There is no evidence Lot's wife was deaf. She heard the angels say not to look back.
  • God wants His prophets to be respected. That was the whole reason apostate Israel was being judged. The Syrians were invading. The Assyrians were next. Because they wouldn't respect or listen to the prophets.
  • Did you miss the part where they threatened to kill Samson's wife and her family if she didn't tell them?
And you're ignoring the whole reason God gave Samson strength. It was to go against the enemies of Israel. The Philistines to be precise. However Samson was somewhat self involved and not paying attention to the plight of his own people. He should have been a great general to lead the children of Israel in battle against the Philistines. Instead he was doing his own thing. So, God kept putting Samson in situations that angered him against the Philistines (who he was supposed to be fighting in the first place.)

I've shown plenty of scriptural evidence in this thread that Satan is a murderer. First of all he caused all death by tempting Eve. Secondly, he killed Job's children and his servants. Thirdly, Jesus Himself calls satan a murderer from the beginning. (John 8:44) Case closed.

The command was given, "Flee for your life! Do not look behind you, nor stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, lest you be swept away." . . . I guess the angels forgot to mention they'd turn her into a pillar of salt . . . kind of like how god lied to Adam & Eve in the Garden?

I don't think the Syrians and Assyrians cared what a war god named Yahweh wanted

Killed them over a riddle? Yeah, that's sane . . .
The Serpent in the Garden of Eden pointed out to Eve that God is a liar and that she will surely not die that day if she eats of the fruit of knowledge, which she did and in fact did not die. The Serpent in this sense brought us the Truth of our Freedom of Will and showed us the way to self-deification (apotheosis).

The Serpent represents the divine force of Creation that is able to carry out the idea of Creation. The Serpent sinks down to man's level and awakens the power of Creation and the sexual energy in man. Thus, man can reach the knowledge which was previously only accessible to God.

This god is such a sore loser . . .

And as for Job . . . LOL!
In the Book of Job God is challenged by ‘one of his sons’ Satan. God abandons his faithful servant Job and lets him fall without pity into the abyss of physical and moral suffering by murdering his sons and daughters, taking away his livestock, and eventually making the shattered Job of ill and suffering health.

Job, abandoned without protection and stripped of his rights, whose nothingness is thrown in his face at every opportunity evidently appears to be so dangerous to God that he must be battered down with God’s heaviest artillery. God’s robbery, murder, bodily injury is premeditating and he even denies a fair trial. He shows no remorse, or compassion, but ruthlessness and brutality, he violates the very commandments he dictated to man on Mount Sinai.

What is the reasoning behind God the Almighty’s resistance to such a little, puny, and defenseless man such as Job? There must be something which Man has the ability to achieve, and this something is the very same something found in the Garden of Eden story with our hero the Serpent. God sees in Job something of equal in power which causes him to bring out his whole arsenal of destruction and parade it before his opponent. God projects onto Job a skeptic’s face which is hateful because it is his own, it questions his omnipotence.

The unconscious mind of Job sees correctly even when conscious reason is blind and impotent. God’s dual nature has been revealed. Job, in spite of his impotence, is set up by Satan to judge over God himself. God unwittingly raises Job’s spiritual consciousness by humiliating him, and in doing so God pronounces judgment on himself and gives man moral satisfaction.

God’s behavior is that of an unconscious being who cannot be judged morally. God is a phenomenon and, as Job says in the Bible, “not a man.” Not human but, in certain respects, less than human, which is how God described the Archdemon of the West Leviathan.

Job realizes God’s inner antinomy, and in the Luciferian Light of this gnosis his knowledge attains a divine numinosity . . . Job becomes like a god!

No one can accuse God of hypocrisy because God came down here to experience it all even though He didn't have to do it. He faced the worst that satan could throw at Him. Jesus was God manifest and so God died thanks to satan's dirty tricks. They tortured Jesus to death and it was not pretty.

There was one man they forced to carry Jesus' cross. That was symbolic of how we are to carry Jesus' cross. So if we suffer with Him; then we'll reign with Him also. Jesus never said otherwise than "take up your cross and follow me"

God does test us. Hides wisdom from us to see how we'll react. And if we pass the test then we'll get wisdom.

And we can change the world if we have faith. Faith is the thing that pleases God if we have faith then we can change things. Have an impact. Stand in the gap. Turn aside the wrath of God. Make up the hedge. Intercede for those who have sinned. Maybe they can repent and be saved. Because faith is what pleases God and He'll heal anyone who comes to Him.

Jesus did this more than anyone. He stood in the gap for the entire world. He made up the hedge. And all the power of hell came against Him.

But there is no battle, no struggle or fight if the stakes are not real. So God did allow all this evil to come so that goodness could be proven good and could triumph over the power evil. Yes evil had to be fully unleashed and could hold nothing back so that the perfection of beauty could be proven.

Because goodness is incomplete without a triumph. Because goodness cannot exist without evil first existing. Evil perfects goodness and makes it exist fully. So how can anyone show mercy if there is no need for it? There is beauty that must be brought out from the struggle. So that the new Jerusalem will shine in splendor forever because evil once existed.

If God will not make everything right; then you can complain. But God will arise upon those who are faithful to the end. They will see His glory and be changed. They will be healed. Every evil thing will be forgotten because of the glory that will fill all things.

If creation is finished now then we are miserable and have no hope except in death. But creation is not finished and the 7th day is coming for those who wait.
Instead of dancing around PopeADope's points with some inane preaching how about addressing what he said?

The Israelites were one of the few monotheistic cultures around. So no Adonai was not just a "God of war". He was the God for every need as far as the Israelites were concerned. It's not different now.

If you were in the bronze age/iron age then you would maybe have to fight also. That was a fact of life. We still have wars right now in modern times.
I don't think the Syrians and Assyrians cared what a war god named Yahweh wanted
Yes they may not have cared but they found out they were wrong more than once. I see your point obviously but I think you're assuming your atheistic views are reality.
The command was given, "Flee for your life! Do not look behind you, nor stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, lest you be swept away." . . . I guess the angels forgot to mention they'd turn her into a pillar of salt . . .
You admit they did tell her not to look back.
The Serpent in the Garden of Eden pointed out to Eve that God is a liar and that she will surely not die that day if she eats of the fruit of knowledge, which she did and in fact did not die. Eve's dead.
The Serpent represents the divine force of Creation that is able to carry out the idea of Creation. The Serpent sinks down to man's level and awakens the power of Creation and the sexual energy in man. Thus, man can reach the knowledge which was previously only accessible to God.
That's just your religious spin. So the serpent comes from a god beyond Adonai is that it?
And as for Job . . . LOL!
In the Book of Job God is challenged by ‘one of his sons’ Satan. God abandons his faithful servant Job and lets him fall without pity into the abyss of physical and moral suffering by murdering his sons and daughters, taking away his livestock, and eventually making the shattered Job of ill and suffering health.
It's foreshadowing how satan accuses everyone who wants to live righteously and how they will suffer trials and tribulations. But, the real reward is in the resurrection. (Job 19:26)
He's not dangerous to God. He's dangerous to satan. Job by living righteously in spite of everything is an accusation against satan who had a good life in heaven (Where it is easy to be righteous) but still rebelled against God. Satan hates Job because Job is righteous and clings to his integrity. Satan ultimately wants us all to be just like he is: damned for eternity and corrupt without integrity. Satan hates the fact that he is a sinner and that other people can be righteous even though he makes them suffer for it. This is why satan tells God that Job will curse Him to His face. But of course satan was wrong.
God is All powerful. If God really wanted Job to curse God like satan wanted; then it would have been done. However, God does not test people above what they are able to bear. And so God knew exactly what Job could take and did not allow anything beyond that.

What God sees in Job is that Job can show an example for future generations of how to patiently suffer and not deny God. So people read the book of Job to this day and are improved by it. Therefore, Job's suffering is not in vain.
So you have satan as a genius and you have God unwitting. I think that's silly.
God’s behavior is that of an unconscious being who cannot be judged morally. God is a phenomenon and, as Job says in the Bible, “not a man.” Not human but, in certain respects, less than human, which is how God described the Archdemon of the West Leviathan.
The point of the book of Job is that life is a test for the righteous. If you want to live righteously you'll be tested so that you can have a more perfect resurrection. The idea that God is only a force and impersonal is refuted by many scriptures.
Job realizes God’s inner antinomy, and in the Luciferian Light of this gnosis his knowledge attains a divine numinosity . . . Job becomes like a god!
Um ... no. What Job realizes at the end of the book is that he doesn't know everything and that He must trust God regardless of limited knowledge. Because God doesn't really answer many of his questions directly, but instead asks Job many rhetorical questions to show how limited Job's knowledge is. This is all summed up in God's first question "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?"

So the book of Job (written for those who want to live righteously) is about keeping people on track. Keeping them trusting in God in spite of suffering or limited knowledge.

The book of Job sums up life by pointing out that faith overcomes the world. Faith not knowledge. Because we will have limited knowledge and satan is indeed smarter than we are. So he will come with arguments that we cannot refute(with our limited knowledge). So faith prevails. Jesus never answered satan's temptations in the wilderness with anything but scriptures. That's because you do not win against satan on reasoning, knowledge or intellect but through faith in the truth God has revealed. (1 John 5:4, Ephesians 6:16)

In conclusion this is about what is better for mankind: faith or knowledge. There is a logical, reasonable explanation for "salvation by faith". Much maligned and despised by those who are wise in their own opinions. But they do not acknowledge the fact that satan is real and is much smarter than they are. So while they profess themselves wise they are deceived and take captive by satan to do his will. And it will always be that way because they cannot outwit satan. Now faith overcomes satan; so it is logical to have faith after all.

A good reason to check all his work, since he does that out-of-context thing all the time. And when anyone points this out, they usually get handed the 'all scripture is inspired' line of circular reasoning. I'd like to know why people who become religious have to lose their mind in the process, but I don't know who to ask.
