666

The number 666 is more accurately 6 60 600. The number 6 signifies imperfection, in the case of 666 it is man's imperfection to the third degree, in units, tens and hundreds.

The number has been terribly misunderstood and misapplied.

The 666 are the estoeric group of angelic demons, along with there devilishly angelic leader who oppose pacifism with torment, and obsolete temptation.

I really don't know much about numerology, especially how it was practiced in more ancient times. However, I always been fascinated the 666 thing. Spiritually, 6 is the last number before completion/perfection, 7 . Three 6s comes to 18 or 9, the last number before 10, human completion or wholeness. Just find it interesting.

It's believed by many historians to be a rather cloaked reference to Caesar Nero, and for good reason. His name in numbers can be either 666 or 616.

Yes.

But papyrus 115 gives the number as 616 which is dated before rebelation.

Its my belief that 666 was copying mistake that stuck

There is just one reference to 666 in the entire bible, of course in the book of revelations. Baha’is believe it refers to a year, 661 when the Umayyad Caliphate came into being. This was a particularly brutal and militant Islamic empire. The other 5 years missing take into account Christ was most likely born between 4 and 6 BC. There are other references to this regime in the same book.

OK. In Daniel 7:2-7 there are four beasts. Daniel 7:17, Daniel 7:23 reveals that these beasts represent kings or kingdoms. At Revelation 13:1-2 the beast is also political, as Revelation 13:7 points out. The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible says it "combines in itself the joint characteristics of the four beasts of Daniel’s vision . . . Accordingly, this first beast [of Revelation] represents the combined forces of all political rule opposed to God in the world."

Originally in the Greek it appeared χ (600), ξ (60) and ς (6).

I don't buy into any of that n umber stuff. Nero wasn't the only one that was done to, the Catholic papacy was also claimed by numbers,
Vicarius Filii Dei (Vicar of the Son of God), and others. Probably half the people here could have it applied to them by some twisting of numbers.
