YouTuber claims we'll never see another Democrat elected president

I think that this guy in the video, though obviously not a political expert, has a lot of good points. Whether you agree with his politics or not is another issue, but I think he is correct in stating that the Democratic party has lost touch with the vast majority of Americans. The fact is that most American adults who are just trying to provide for their families simply don't care about gay marriage, transgender bathrooms, climate change, etc. Now, I'm not going to say that these issues are unimportant, so please don't take this the wrong way. However, I think that the political left, particularly the "social justice warrior" fringe, has increasingly become less concerned with the well-being of average middle class families, and instead has placed the majority of their energy and focus on issues that most Americans just don't care about that much. Thus, Trump, with his simple message directed at average Americans, was able to win the presidency. I think this video is correct. Unless Democrats change their priorities, they will continue to lose elections.

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
Is it Democrats who push the "SJW" issues to the fore, or Conservatives and their supporting pundits who do so by their constant attempts to block them?

IMHO the Democrats do little but react, at least recently. If they want to make any headway they need to take control of the conversation, rather than just reacting to stuff other people say. So long as their strategy is responding to the latest inflamatory Tweet, they'll keep losing relevance.

In the last 3 presidential elections, more people have voted for the Democratic nominee than the Republican nominee. The same can be said for 6 out of the last 7 presidential elections. I don't think it is the Democrats who have lost touch with Americans.

When you look at America as a hole, Democrats have lost a ton of positions across the national, state, and municipal level. And a lot of is that Democrats overplay the minority appeal and don't dive into the working class like they used to. Americans mostly do agree with Democrats with many issues, but they don't win elections because they don't appeal to the main demograph, and that is the working class. The Democrats have college Liberals, minorities, and not much else. The next Democrat could probably easily win if they show strong union support, and campaign on it, because that speaks to the working class.

Maybe you're not familiar enough with some of the loons on the far left. I have extensive personal experience with them. I once took a college class in which various "panels" came to speak to the class about "social justice." Some of them claimed that "Xi" should be recognized as a scientifically legitimate gender, and that anyone who didn't recognize this weird gender identity as being objectively real and not just a feeling is a bigot. Another time, someone (who was Caucasian by the way) stated "If you're a white person, there's no arguing about it, you ARE a racist. Period." It's this kind of nonsense that is becoming increasingly prominent on the left, which is why I think the guy in the video has a point. The Democrats need to publicly dissociate themselves from these loons. Disclaimer: If you want to believe that you are a member of some third gender, I've got no problem with it. But if you want to try to force me to accept your third gender as being objectively real, and label me a bigot if I do not, that's another story.

They aren't the "far left." Those of us who are of the far Left despise, loathe, and detest the "Snowflake Liberal." The over-privileged, pompous ******* who wouldn't know a real struggle if it bit them on the face. They are just as bad, and potentially just as dangerous, as the alt-right. But they certainly do not belong in the far left outfield.

I'm glad you denounce them, but sadly many on the left do not. UC-Berkeley used to be the #1 college campus for free speech. Now they've banned people from their campus for their opinions, including Dr. Richard Dawkins (simply because he speaks the truth about Islam).

The Democrats have won virtually every Presidential election since Bush I in the 80s. Maybe they need to get better at playing the rigged electoral system.
Or put more effort into democratizing it.

George W in his second election had a clear majority. Something that Bill Clinton did not do in either of his elections victories.

I think Democrats very much need to get back to their roots as proponents of middle and working class economic issues. They can still pile on all the good stuff, and I hope they do (yet quietly!), but their strongest, clearest message absolutely must resonate with the middle and working classes -- and that means economic issues. The middle and working classes vote overwhelmingly on the basis of their wallets. Always have, always will.

However, I'm not talking here just about taking the White House. Far from it.

They're real problem is the House and Senate, and even more troubling, their continual and devastating setbacks on the state levels. They are so far behind Republicans in governorships and control of state legislatures that one could be reasonably forgiven for thinking they will never make up the difference in twenty years.

Bush II, incumbent war president, won one election.
The only time since his Dad that more USA voters voted for the Republican candidate.
The question was "Which party is more in line with The People", at least that was my interpretation of it.

Were the Democrats as skilled at running a rigged game as the Republicans there wouldn't have been a Republican president since Bush I , is my response.

Hard to say. If the Republicans had their act together Clinton would never have gotten elected. He won because two conservative candidates split the vote, twice.

We'd have a very different House if the Republicans didn't show such finely honed gerrymandering skills 8 years ago.

The utterly insane anti-American loonies on the right are quite something to behold.

What Democrats need to do has been articulated here - break through the media anti-Democratic slant or outright lying propaganda with more strongly articulated message that has been there but has been ignored, lied about and slandered by the far right.

And we need to highlight how happy the right is with seeing 2-year old children crying when they're ripped away from their moms and rejoicing at the sight of kids in concentration camps.

That's silly. Of course there will be another democrat president. And another republican. And another democrat . And another. ....................................
I would not mind a sane Republican, but those who are rational are basically without a party these days.
