Zechariah 11:10 I took my staff Grace (Favor), and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples.
Grace was removed for having murdered the shepherd for 30 pieces of silver, and thus there is no free grace...
Luke 6:32-35 If you love those who love you, what Grace (credit) is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. (33) If you do good to those who do good to you, what Grace (credit) is that to you? For even sinners do the same. (34) If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what Grace (credit) is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much. (35) But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is Gracious (kind) toward the Ungracious (unthankful) and evil.
Luke 17:7-10 But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table,’ (8) and will not rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’? (9) Does he Grace (thank) that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not. (10) Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”
Plus we don't get grace for doing as we're instructed or being average, we get grace for being a saint in all action.
