why would john say the god whom you haven't seen; if jesus was god whom people had seen?

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

or

Exodus 2:2
I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Psalm 118:26
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

John 5:43
I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

Good question to think about. If John was trying to promote Jesus as God, that sure is a confusing way to emphasize it!

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

Just one thing: most Bible’s have Lord there in all capitals, ie., “LORD”, as opposed to “Lord.” The all-capitals one is where the Divine Name, Yahweh (or Jehovah in English), appeared; the other, ie., Lord, is just where the word for Lord appeared.

Psalms 110:1 and Psalms 8:1 shows how confusing (and unenlightening) taking God’s Name out of His Own book can be.

John 1:18

Jesus as the incarnation of God, via being God's son, was the incarnation, the form, that the people did not know, previous to His incarnation.

This is why the verse says 'hath declared Him'.

John does not say that the form of God cannot be known, or that God has no form, John is saying that Jesus is the form, or a form, and now they knew, as previously, did not.

all forms are created of god

Jesus wasn't calling himself God. Spirit is not visible, except in what is produced.

How do you test a spirit? The scientific method is an example. So what is spirit? Spirits are truths or falsehoods- hence, 'Spirit of Truth'.

That's the problem; many of you aren't willing to test the spirits. You'll regurgitate whatever is written, without question.

question it, to determine; if it is of Love for All.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Good question. According to the Bible, Jesus is the image of God. So, if one has seen Jesus, he has seen God, but not directly (face to face).

….is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation…

Colossians 1:14-16

This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.

Is Jesus God incarnate?

1 John 4:12
"No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us."

Mark 13:32
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

1 KIng 8:27
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

Malachi 3:6
For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Scripture seems to imply that Jesus can not possibly be God incarnate.

Perhaps it would be better to think of Jesus as being a perfect image or reflection of Gods' divine attributes?

Colossians 1:15 in regards to Jesus
"Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature"

John 5:19
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 8:28
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Not what could be; not what should be; not what would be- only what is, and what will be. The truth.

I Am That I Am; I Will Be What I Will Be.

Matthew 5:37

Let your word be, Yes, [when] Yes, No, [when] No, and that which is more than these is of the evil.

I was noting how the book of John, doesn't actually say what you stated.

if God is love, then God = Love, the two words are interchangeable.

john said it was. paul said the fruit of the Spirit of God is loving.

God is loving. God is Love.
