Isn't a deist supposed to see God as the first cause?

I have been reading a post by a deist that doesn't sound like he is a deist at all. Am I wrong? Isn't a deist God a god that puts everything in motion and then sits back and doesn't interfere? A god as a first cause makes sense to me as an agnostic. Science shows that it is a perfectly reasonable hypothesis that after the big bang, the universe followed a path with no intervention by any supernatural force.

Nope, definitions changed. Most Deists through out history have believed in praying to God and believe he responds. It specifically refers to those who don't believe in Messengers/Prophets or Divine revelation.

Definitions is all a power game anyways. There has and never will be a universal agreed upon definition that is constant through out time on any word.
