Hi, I have this little devotional book from the NIV and I would like to share with you some of the wonderful teachings that is truly inspiring and could be applied to our daily lives during stressful situations. I will try to post every day from this book. It doesn't matter what religion you are, it is Christian based and I think it has some words of wisdom that can impact anyone's spirit in an uplifting way. It has topics from A-z
Tbl of contents
Accepting others
Anxiety
Beauty
Challenge
Conflict....etc etc.
THere are very uplifting bible versus that I want to share that I find to be very uplifting.

I want to start with Anxiety, something that I struggle with from time to time.

ANXIETY

When you're tempted to feel hopeless and trapped in fear, remember...life is hard, and it shouldn't suprise us that a fallen world will provide dissappointment, painful losses, unfulfilled expectations and sadness. The day nothing happens that makes us feel a little bit afraid, we'd better watch out! We may quit breathing!

New opportunites and challenges bring numerous, fearful situations that we must deal with! Seek help from experts in an area of concern. Or discuss your fears with your spouse or a good friend.

An attitude of optimism will make today more enjoyable. Seek out humorous thoughts and anecdotes.

There is an underlying fear that comes from feeling helpless. Moving out in faith may seem frightening, risky, impossible, senselsess, stretching, gut-wrenching, and unatural, but it's worth it. Carol Kent

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you much more valuable thatn they? Matthew 6:26

Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcens all understanding, will gurad your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrew 13:5

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all is splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will me not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30

Cast ALL your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat: or about your body, what you will wear. LIfe is more than food, and the body more than clothes." Luke 12:22-23

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be women of courage; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

We have imperfections. We live in an imperfect world.
Our created purpose is to let God's light shine through every facet of your being, expressing his colors and beauty through us in ways no one else can.

If you look at a ring under the microscope everyday and became intimately familiar with every flaw, you might be embarrassed by it. But that is not how God meant the beauty of a diamond to be seen. The beauty of a diamond is seen when someone holds it up in the sunlight and everyone see it sparkle.

We are created to shine with the light of God's creative genuis. When you appreciate yourself in all your uniqueness, you will dare hold you life up to the light. You will dare to live the beauty you were created to express...cleaned and polished with the forgiveness of God.

A wilfe of nobe character which can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that your innerself, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. 1 Peter 3:3-5

One thing I ask the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek in his temple. Psalm 27:4

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:25-26

God has made everything beautiful in it's time. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Here she stands, my mother for forty years. As I look to her, I sense that someone has wound the clock. Years have become increments. History has a beginning and an end. Then Mother's arms wrap me in warmth, and I am hope. A forty year old child reassured by her mother's touch. There is no time to touch.

I hear the tea kettle whistling. My Mother's chocolate chip cookies pull me back into timelessness. Our laughter drowns out the clock. There is not time in laughter.

For a moment I forget the ticking clocks. I am held together by things that do not change-a mother's early morning welcome, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, an ironstone plate and laughter.

I am held together by a Go who does not change. I know the God of time who is yet above time. I see tonight in my mother's face the strange paradox of time and timelessness. A rare glimpse of the divine. Ruth Center

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach which you will say, "I find no pleasure in them." Ecclesiates 12:1

Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot succeed. Job 14:4

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am God, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.Isaiah 46:4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully erased for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "NOw the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the older of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, an I will be his Go an he will be my son.: Revelation 21: 1-7

He asked you for life, and you gave it to him-length of days, forever and ever. Psalm 21:3

Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep you tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Psalm 34:12-13

With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. Psalm 91:16
