In your faith, is there any symbol of marriage? I know that in Christianity it's a ring. I believe it used to be just for the woman to wear, and now it's both genders.

In Hinduism it's a pendant called a mangalasutra Mangala sutra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and it varies from region to region in India. Men don't normally wear anything as a symbol of marriage. Some Hindus who have moved to the west have adopted wearing a ring, just to indicate that they're married so there is no unwanted advances by men who wouldn't know any better.

I am totally unfamiliar with Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, etc. with regard to any symbols of marriage.

Looking forward to learning...

In my experience there's probably not one symbol that Baha'is everywhere recognize as a symbol of marriage... since we have a very simple marriage service which basically involves each person ("bride" and "groom") reciting a single phrase: "We will all verily abide by the Will of God" in front of two designated witnesses.

There are Baha'i Wedding Rings but a wedding ring is not obligatory...Baha'i wedding rings may have a symbol engraved on them called the "Greatest Name" which follows:

Baha'i Symbols

Abdul-Baha in a reference to a marriage said:

The news of your union, as soon as it reached me, imparted infinite joy and gratitude. Praise be to God, those two faithful birds have sought shelter in one nest. I beseech God that He may enable them to raise an honoured family, for the importance of marriage lieth in the bringing up of a richly blessed family, so that with entire gladness they may, even as candles, illuminate the world.

~ Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha, p. 120

So for my wife and I as we approach our fortieth anniversary of our marriage the symbol of two birds is important.

The wedding ring of Christianity probably came from Judaism. In Judaism the woman receives a plain round (no design on it) wedding ring of at least some minimal value and it is slid onto the middle segment of her right index finger.
Nowadays many woman end up moving it to their ring finger after the wedding.

As we know that perfect clothing with matching jewelry is become the latest fashion. Jewelry add sparkle, glamour and its shows your own style and personality. Matching cloths with matching jewelry is the perfect combination of style. If you want your wedding memorable then choose or select jewelry according to your wedding dress.

Yes, it is according to the tradition that your marriage and life will be clear and 'plain' without any troubles.
But it is allowed to make an engraving on the internal side of the ring. For example me and my husband, we are living in LA and we took a pair like this: Brushed Rose Gold Plater Tungsten Carbide Wedding Band Polished Stepped edge 6mm , golden and we put our names and date of the wedding. (unfortunately I can't make this photo smaller, sorry for that).

But is it possible to make with my own engraving on it?

Sorry I haven't been back to the Forum lately ... The ring is lovely! and precious. I think things owned by people we have loved are especially precious. I have an old 1941 Prayer Book owned by the first Baha'i family we know of in our town. The memories and love still radiate..
