What is the Lake of Fire,
If you were ask to describe the Lake of Fire, how would you go about to describe the Lake of Fire to someone?

I guess your talking about volcanoes and pits of natural fires,
or maybe forest fires and buildings burning, and of meteors and stuff.
You, as an adult human, couldn't believe in hell and it's satanious leader ?
Nahhh...you must be thinking of all the other fiery crap !
Horns to you and yours :babyangel:

It's very evocative, symbolic language to me including:

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Death suffers the second death? Hell is cast into hell and dies?

This to me points to a change so profound that we cannot really imagine it - it's "something great will happen that has never happened before".

Sri Aurobindo wrote of this dawn:

I saw the Omnipotent's flaming pioneers
Over the heavenly verge which turns towards life
Come crowding down the amber stairs of birth;
Forerunners of a divine multitude,
Out of the paths of the morning star they came
Into the little room of mortal life.
I saw them cross the twilight of an age,
The sun-eyed children of a marvelous dawn,
The great creators with wide brows of calm,
The massive barrier-breakers of the world
And wrestlers with destiny in her lists of will,
The laborers in the quarries of the gods,
The messengers of the Incommunicable,
The architects of immortality.

From the Bible, of course:)...

Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin,
but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:11

For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

So...how did you get the name "mud'?

In Rev 20:14 death and hades are thrown into the lake of fire, but before that the accuser is thrown into a lake of burning sulphur.

In Rev 19:11 we see a rider whose name is Faithful And True, and he wears a robe dipped in blood. Obviously Revelation is using symbols. Out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. This sword 'Kills' those who have received the mark of the beast (Rev 19:21). This represents the work of Christ in the Earth as a war, the war of ideas which we have seen fought and which we can read about in both History books and in the present. In the stream of the same vision following this rider then comes down the angel with the key to an abyss, and this angel simply seizes the dragon, throws it into the abyss and locks it away, easy as pie. If the angel is a symbol then it represents something real, and the real thing is what it represents. For that reason it appears to be describing in imagery what is promised in Romans 16:20 "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you." The same goes with the Lake of Fire. If it is a symbol (which it is) then it represents something real just as the killing. In many prophets and Psalms typically fire seems to represent the removal of corruption. At the vision of the prophet Isaiah we read that the prophet complains his lips are unclean before they are purified with a hot coal from the altar. The fire removes the corruption from his speech. Revelation here says the false prophet will be thrown into a lake of fire, which suggests there will be no more false prophets or that they will be made into real ones.

With all that being said, How would you describe the Lake Fire to someone.

What is the Lake of Fire,
If you were ask to describe the Lake of Fire, how would you go about to describe the Lake of Fire to someone?

This is highly symbolic and Abdul'baha has given us a thought with this quote;

"Know, O thou possessors of insight, that true spirituality is like unto a lake of clear water which reflects the divine. Of such was the spirituality of Jesus Christ......" Abdu'l-Baha : Abdu'l-Baha in London

We know when we turn away from Christ and the Lake of Pure Water, we turn towards our own self, which is the opposite and thus could be likened to a Lake of Fire.

hey In,
Used to have breakfast at a beach eatery on the beach out here.
Hung with a lot of people and growtched about a few things in the world.
A lawer pal named me chermudgion, and it seemed to stick.
He posted on a forum and when I joined I used the user name chermud,
short for the obvious.
The format folded up and I joined this format,
they wouldn't allow `chermud` so it's now `mud.
They say I'm as clear as mud sometimes, but I don't agree, do you ?

Your right, that it is symbolic, That there's no actual Lake of Fire, Christ Jesus uses things to represent someone or something.

So what would Christ Jesus mean by The Lake of Fire, what would the Lake of Fire Represent ?
Seeing that it's not an actual Lake thats burning with Fire.

So what would the Lake of Fire really Represent ?

The answer was in the reply. I would say it is all to do with Materialism, all that takes us away from Christ is the Lake of Fire, a world of our making and not of that of God,

That's what i'm asking ?
Your not making yourself clear, So that's what I'm asking.

This is a Spiritual lake the result of rejecting the Divine.

If the sea symbolizes people then the lake of fire is made of a special kind of people. They are a lake which melts and destroys corruption. They are all of Jesus most earnest disciples.
