I'm not sure if Paul Simon's "The Boxer" speaks about a type of person so much as it speaks about the human condition in general. But I'm offering here one of the best covers ever made of it (in my opinion). To me, the song captures something about people, about human nature, that is almost beyond compare.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
This song not only reminds me of many of my family members back in the Midwest, but it also sums up a lot of the working class despair I grew up wth, much of which forged my liberal, anti-greed, pro-union philosophy.
