It is not something I would knowingly initiate.
It is very messy and sometimes happens...
But in no way unhealthy or Taboo.
The chances of conception are vanishingly small......But not apparently impossible.

To some people it is a fetish and something they relish......

" we also have a contractual obligation to have relations with our wives (the obligation is to her, not a mutual obligation"

that wives have to comply to sex?
No, when you have an obligation to someone, it means that you have to do something for the other person.

So "the obligation is to her" means that the man has an obligation to provide his wife with relations. Because she doesn't have a similar obligation towards him (that is, to provide him relations at his request), I added that the obligation is "not a mutual obligation". So he can't demand relations from her, she however can from him.

wow ....
thanks for...

I have heard that some 'christians' feel the same way too, that if the wife says 'no' they can force themselves on them with no issues...
You got his comment backwards. In their society for about four thousand years its been the reverse that in any marriage the contract stipulates the man must comply not the wife, for as long as they are married.

I don't care what other people do in their bedroom but I personally wouldn't want to do anything sexual when I'm menstruating because I get a lot of pains/cramps that don't need any more excitement, plus I'm just not in the mood around that time.

I have no problem with it. I've had girlfriends that do or do not for their own reasons, so it's mainly up to them. But presented with the option I am up for it.

Like marmite some love it, some hate it. For me it's no problem after the first two or three days.

My hubby and I have sex during that time, but in the shower where you can't really notice. I don't know what any religion says about it, though. I never thought about that aspect of it.

Question: Why does a Tampax have a string attached?

Answer: So one can floss after eating.

I really doubt that I would. It seems a little too messy. Plus, the type of birth control I use pretty much gets rid of monthly periods for me.
