I guess my main motive for coming here was to keep in touch with what religious people outside of just Christians were up to. I get tired of the same thing being presented to me for the millionth time. I also appreciate that atheists are also given a fair chance here, so real discussions are possible without anyone getting shut down for believing differently.

Religious forums are basically my church. I don't want to go outside and be with a crowd of people who will all mumble the same crap. I want to learn as much as I can from as many as I can, and only the internet can provide such a thing.

You could have it mounted as a pendant and give it to your Missus. ??
I have no understanding whatsoever of women's jewelry.
Mrs Revolt buys her own, & then tells me whether she
wants it for Xmas or birthday. Things go better this way.

God I'm jealous... When I ask my significant other what she wants, I get an "I don't know," and when I try to fish for hints, she notices and is just as unhelpful. o_O

Their mothers train them to do this, you know.
In such cases, buy her some expensive which gives
the appearance that you put much thought into it.
But it must be from a store where she can return it
to get what she really wants.

Unfortunately it's not that easy for me. She gets mad when I spend much money, and she can tell if I have spent that much. She likes hand made things, but unfortunately I don't have a lot of time outside of my work life, AND we don't like being apart when we aren't working, so I don't have much time alone to work on projects. Check and mate! :D

What do you suppose is the majority of motives for becoming a member here and participating in discussions?

I personally have been influenced and learned by the different view points from other members. I have to re-question and transform my understanding of reality.

Thank you for sharing.

There are several of us on RF who migrated from topix when they did the dirty and shadow banned all non north american (USA and Canada) posters.

Topix is something of a free for all it took me a few weeks to realise that RF is a far more civilized and cerebral place to be. The biggest bonuses are I've come to understand some aspects of faith that previously left me baffled and learned a little about some of the more obscure religions, one or two I'd never heard of.

I've also made one or few friends so that can't be bad.

Oh my jolly old goodness.......
Where is the wonder of romance in Michigan?

What does she buy you for your birthday, or anniver...... no..... let's just leave it at birthday for now. Surely you don't buy a model Turner Steam engine and wrap it up for her to give to you?

Damme! We've had this conversation before! I seem to remember that I imagined her beating you senseless with some lump of machinery!

I personally joined to spread the news that Extra-Terrestrials created us and it was in the Bible. The Bible and Aliens in the Aliens forum was a huge, gigantic success and that's still my main focus although I like to philosophize too and sometimes talk politics.

Feel free to revive it; it will be my delight to respond.

The best romance is when everything goes smoothly, happily & calmly.
Unbridled passion is for young whippersnappers who must learn the hard way.

I want only small reliably enjoyabl ethings, eg, booze, chocolate.

Were she to become violent, I'd be on the receiving end of kung fu.

Boards such as this help to keep the old brain works tuned-up with an endless supply of “truths” and possibilities to dissect and explore. I can agree or disagree, with humor or in all seriousness, and not be concerned with being ostracized and snubbed at the grocery store! LOL

Yes..... since I got onto discussion forums like this back in 2003 my thinking on many topics has been significantly altered by the ideas of other writers.

I have only been here for a couple of months and I find myself here far more than in any other forum..... for a number of reasons...........
1. I am kind of amazed by the variety of opinions we find here in one discussion.....

2. the atmosphere is so much more positive and encouraging than in the religious section of boards that are dedicated mostly to politics.......

Excellent!
You just couldn't realise how that thought could send me gently into thumb-sucking sleep. :D

Spirituality

What about beings from other planets, do you think they visit here?

Yes I do. And I think those who have been permitted to cross over into our world have been doing so for a very long time now (for a very important purpose) as Divinely arranged by Heaven. Since my NDE, because of a few things I was shown, it is now my deep belief that some of the more phenomenal events depicted in the Old Testament (such as the Great flood of Noah, the parting of the Red Sea for Moses, the mass explosion of Sodom and Gomorrah, etc) are not only very true, but were moments in time which were orchestrated and performed by beings of a much higher order and intelligence than our ownwho may have volunteered their technology and understandings or even sent to help guide and shape a culture within humanity during a pressing time within its development and evolution." I think I mostly come here because someone else paid for my lifetime subscription and I feel guilty to not use it, but my snarky sense of humor always gets me in trouble with the mods anyway since no one here can have any fun. Is there any way to get a refund? lol...

Originally, this place was a fun place to talk about various beliefs and LHP subjects for me with people of varying paths. Now there is only one path - bleeding heart leftists, it's rather boring. I keep chasing the dream though of the old RF where people having a disagreement didn't always end in deleted threads and mod points just because someone got a little mock happy or snarky. Ahh, the old days...

Now, it's nearly pointless to talk about any subject that really matters. You can't even post dank memes without getting modded... No _FUN_.
