I discard them, as the Holy Spirit said to.

Luke (Mark and Matthew):
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

It's clear that Moses and Isaiah were not the one God wanted man to listen to. And Jesus kept that among them, since he was trying to save the Jews and didn't need the extra hassles.

Jesus never said to teach or learn of the OT fathers. So I dropped it. He said teach the Gospel.

h8083. שְׁמֹנֶה šemôneh; or שְׁמֹנָה šemônâ; apparently from 8082 through the idea of plumpness; a cardinal number, eight (as if a surplus above the “perfect” seven)

It's the same word for both verses.

I chose to point out your misunderstandings/misrepresentations of scripture. I don't think pulling a strawman on God works. :p

God created beast then mankind in general who lived outside of Eden in Genesis 1 25:26

God created Adam in Genesis 2 and placed him in Eden.

So yes God created beast first, then mankind (in general), then Adam in Eden. Adam and Eve served a specific purpose, but it was not to start the entire human population from scratch.

Jechoichan just looks like a minor mistranslation no biggie.

If you read Genesis 6:1-6 you can see Genesis 6: 6 in context. As he is talking about fallen angels that bred with the daughter of men bringing forth the Nephilim (the giants spoken of). Which then eventually leads us to the events of Noah and the flood.

As far as Samuel goes you have to realize Samuel was hardcore. He was upset because Saul spared some of the men, women, children, and livestock of the town Saul just raided. Which if you read the surrounding text you could understand this in context. I quite enjoyed reading that again, Samuel cracks me up!

And as with Jechoichan mistranslations happen. /shrug These are easily fixed with a minor amount of effort from the reader.

Still don't see why Genesis 2:7-8...18-19 doesn't contradict Genesis 1:25-26. But that's okay,

Doesn't really make any difference whom he regretted making. The point is, god regretted having done something. He made a mistake.

Your point being that wherever an unexplainable issue arises it has to be a mistranslation. How convenient ;) However, your assertion that mistranslations do happen does point up the fact that the Bible is fallible and therefore everything in it is suspicious and not wholly trustworthy. Hmmm . . . Interesting position you take.

I didn't say everything was mistranslation.

I even specified where the problem is your flat out misunderstandings.

But, yes mistranslation/misunderstandings happen often. Especially when it's translated from the original, to another language, and then into another language and so on. It gets even worse when you have people quoting from one of the 50+ poorly translated bibles like the NIV. It is the human mind at fault for any mistranslations/misunderstandings which is understandable because we are not perfect.

I think the very Scripture you quoted regarding Saul explains it.....Saul "turned bad".

If anything, verses that reveal Jehovah God's regret -- and there are a few -- tell us that God doesn't make anyone follow Him, and be obedient. We all have freedom to make our own choices, and either suffer or benefit.

But that's not God's mistake. The Bible is God's gift to us, guiding us to make good choices if we let it. Saul, to borrow a quote from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, "chose poorly".

And believe it or not, our choices can make Him either sad or happy. -- Proverbs 27:11

I assume there's Biblical scripture pointing this out. Please share.

It's quite obvious. The scribes who collated the books of the Pentateuch from the oral traditions which existed before them weren't there when all came into being, the tale itself is similar to others, older, from the same area and the several versions of the creation myth in the scriptures are all contradictory. They are not literal truth, they are myth and legend and thus far more important than simple, literal truth.

MAN created before beasts
Genesis 2:7-8...18-19
7 Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and made a man.] He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living thing. 8 Then the Lord God planted a garden in the East, in a place named Eden. He put the man he made in that garden.. . . .

19 18 Then the Lord God said, “I see that it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make the companion he needs, one just right for him.” 19 The Lord God used dust from the ground and made every animal in the fields and every bird in the air. He brought all these animals to the man, and the man gave them all a name.
This one is easy. Anyone who has studied the Bible seriously would know the answer to it.
If you look at a few translations, you will find this for Gen 2:
19 And out of the ground Jehovah Elohim had formed every animal of the field and all fowl of the heavens, and brought them to Man, to see what he would call them; and whatever Man called each living soul, that was its name.
And with the waving of Letterman's pencil the verb tense is seen to fit so that all of a sudden there is no longer a problem to the believer. Only the unbeliever fails to know this, or the very inexperienced Bible student.
Jehoiachin was 18 years old
2 kings 24:8
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
Vs
Jehoiachin was 8 years old
2 Chronicles 36:9
Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
Here again I find that simply switching to another translation, there is no longer a problem.

Here, for the sake of giving an explanation that covers all bases, I have this quote for you: (What age was Jehoiachin when he began his reign?)
There are two primary explanations for the apparent contradiction between 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9 in regards to Jehoiachin’s age. The first explanation is that this represents a copyist’s error. As the Old Testament manuscripts were copied by hand, from century to century, small and inconsequential errors found their way into the biblical text. In ancient Hebrew, the numbers 8 and 18 would have been differentiated by a very small mark. No matter how meticulous the scribes were, it would be understandable if one misread the number and recorded the wrong number on the new manuscript.

It is important to remember that the inerrancy of the Bible only applies to the original manuscripts. The Bible is the best-preserved work from ancient times. With literally thousands of ancient manuscripts in existence, the reliability of the biblical text is not in question. No textual variant has any impact whatsoever on any important biblical doctrine. Virtually all of the variations involve numbers, spelling, or the presence of a preposition. Further, due to the sheer number of biblical manuscripts, it is usually easy to determine which reading is correct in the instances of apparent copyist’s errors. Rest assured, the Bible is completely trustworthy.

The second explanation in regards to Jehoiachin’s age in 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9 is that 2 Chronicles records Jehoiachin’s age when he was appointed co-regent with his father, and 2 Kings records Jehoiachin’s age when, after his father’s death, he became king in his own right. Other kings also used co-regents. David appointed Solomon king while David was still alive (1 Kings 1:33-40), and, when Uzziah was afflicted with leprosy, his son Jotham became co-regent (2 Chronicles 26:21). While there is no specific mention of a co-regency in regards to Jehoiachin, this is a plausible explanation for the difference between 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9.
I think that my answer has grown quite long already, please post the rest in another B question.

Brother Napalm of God's Love
Scholars identify between 7 and 20 odd creation stories in the Bible, some of them quite complex (these tend to be the later ones, Genesis 1 & 2 are examples here) and others are simpler, sometimes only a verse or two. One of the most famous is in Proverbs 8 where Wisdom says the following:

Proverbs 8 The birth of Wisdom and her co-creative role

23: “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,,
before his deeds of old;

I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.

When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;
before the mountains were settled in place,
before the hills, I was given birth,
before he made the world or its fields
or any of the dust of the earth.

I was there when he set the heavens in place,
when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
when he established the clouds above
and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
when he gave the sea its boundary
so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.

Then I was constantly at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.

Most non-Trinitarians recognize Proverbs as a specific reference to the beginning of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we also see in Micah 5:
2 (And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me who is to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)
Proverbs does not speak of a beginning that refers to the time of Adam, it speaks of a long period of time including mankind having been created and before the universe began.

Scriptures involving issues such as:

The order of events:

BEASTS created before man
Genesis 1:25-26
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Vs

This one's easy. It's proof that Genesis isn't meant to be a scientific, historical description of how the world was created, but rather a myth designed to teach spiritual truths.

Difference in fact

Jehoiachin was 18 years old
2 kings 24:8
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

Vs

Jehoiachin was 8 years old
2 Chronicles 36:9
Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
*shrugs* My faith doesn't depend on how old Jehoiachin was when he became king, so this one's irrelevant to me
Perfect nature of god
His way is perfect
2 Samuel 22:31
31 “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

His works are perfect
Deuteronomy 32:4
The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity, he is just and right.

Vs

His mistake in making man
Genesis 6:6
the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

His mistake of making Saul King
1 Samuel 15:11
I regret making Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not performed My commands. And Samuel was grieved and angry [with Saul], and he cried to the Lord all night.
Tbh it never said that God created man perfect. We sinned and then God was like "Oh for freaking sakes guys y'all had one job". Also, 2 Samuel and Deuteronomy 32 are prayers of people, and they testify to the justness of God's ways.

Ooh look, words couched in worldviews from 2000-3000 years ago which now sound odd to modern ears when we try and carry them forward!

Do you

1.Concede they're there, shrug your shoulders, and continue on with your faith.

2. Claim they can't be issues because the Bible is inerrant, and continue on with your faith.

3. Admit they pose a problem, but can be explained away---even if you personally can't do so---and continue on with your faith.

4. Do your utmost to reconcile each and everyone of them, continuing on with your faith.

5. Say they don't matter because they don't affect the loftier message of the Bible, and continue on with your faith

6. Hate to admit they're quite troublesome and will start examining your beliefs, but continue on with your faith.

7.Thank Skwim for bringing these to your attention, and not continue on with your faith.
Depending on the situation, either 1, 3, 4, something like 5, and 6. I don't define Biblical inerrancy or infallbility like any Fundamentalist would.
