The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Maybe it's just me, but, according to the Bible, isn't the world supposed to end when Jesus returns?

From my pov, this is like asking if RF will continue to function if and when the telephone is invented.

I think RF would still serve a purpose. A new Christ would get our tongues wagging over a number of topics. The thing that amuses me is that Christians think that Christ will come to collectively pat them on the head for doing a such great job in his absence. Little could be farther from the truth. IF he HAD to return the chances are that his intermediaries have been asleep at the wheel all along... and it is time for the big guy to set things straight.

I've wondered about this myself. It's not like the first time around Christ came to pat any of the religious leaders on the head and tell them what a good job they were doing. Um...quite the opposite.

I don't see why the second time around would be any different.

The Greek word that is translated in the KJV as "world" is "aion" which, as some would have it, is better translated as "age."

In other words, it may be a huge end of the age, and a sea change in the way things work, but not the destruction of the earth.

That's the short explanation, anyway.

Yes.

If Christ's Second Coming is anything like Jesus in the Bible, then he would still speak in parables that are open to wide-interpretations, because of the symbolic meanings. Anything he has to say, people will ponder them as endlessly as we had pondered the NT ambiguous sayings.

Until he learned to talk straight, without all these innuendos and double-meaning, then we are no more better-off understanding him than in his 1st coming.

I think his phillosophies are fairly straight forward - evn those found in Gnostic texts.

Jesus Christ returns.

Vodka and beer and other "spirits" are flowing and enjoyed heavily.

Christ dons a whip.

I wouldn't be surprised if the trampolines were ushered out on cue for the girls........

Peace,
Mystic

Greetings!

Given that in the Baha'i view the Return of the Christ Spirit took place over a century and a half ago, if RF is functioning now, then clearly it has indeed "continued" after the Return!

Simple as that. :)

Best,

Bruce
