The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

My vote is no. When Christ comes, he will make all things new. I don't think that we'll need RF or the internet as we frolic in paradise.

From my POV, yes.

But then to me Jesus and Christ are two different things, if someone else became Christ they could well face the same fate as Jesus depending on where they live. In China they'd be killed.

In America they would be lynched or locked up.

RF will continue on as none the wiser.

No worries, Rich.

But how could it be deserving of the name "paradise" without the internet? :D

Just goes to show you can never find a Mod when you need one. But they always seem to find you when you don't want them to. :p

I think RF would still serve a purpose. A new Christ would get our tongues wagging over a number of topics. The thing that amuses me is that Christians think that Christ will come to collectively pat them on the head for doing a such great job in his absence. Little could be farther from the truth. IF he HAD to return the chances are that his intermediaries have been asleep at the wheel all along... and it is time for the big guy to set things straight.

I agree. But there are different ways of "setting things straight"; I cannot imagine Christ wielding a baseball bat................

Paradise, by definition, must include the internet and vodka. And places to swim. Anyway, if Jesus comes back, he'll probably be too busy whacking his followers over the head with a big stick to worry about RF. ;)

How about a whip?

John 2: 14And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;

Or perhaps he will be too busy whacking his own big stick. :D

They prefer to be called Belarusans now, I think. ;)

A Greek bishop once told me that Greeks don't drink beer during Lent, but Russians do, and a Russian priest added, "And vodka."

"Oh, Father!" says the bishop. "Not vodka!"

"The Lord would never be so cruel," said the priest, "as to deny us vodka."

I think this discussion may be off topic. I'm not sure, though, because I can't remember what the topic was. The hell with it! Pass the vodka!

From what I am to understand, Christ has come and gone from this planet a few times, just not in the aspect that people would expect or recognize.

Unless Christ brings with him the power of teleportation that everyone could use freely, where else would I go to visit Retrorich and other RF comrades?

Can you elaborate on that? I'd like to learn more.

Wait, let me get this straight. When Jesus comes back, he'll bring...vodka? Maybe I've been following the wrong religion all along!

Nah, I'll stick with my mead here.

It has been explained to me that the man (formerly known as Jesus) has reincarnated in this physical existences a few times (possibly as different entities). One of them was as a human but the capacity of teacher, messiah, prophet was not a chosen purpose for that lifetime.

Yes.

If Christ's Second Coming is anything like Jesus in the Bible, then he would still speak in parables that are open to wide-interpretations, because of the symbolic meanings. Anything he has to say, people will ponder them as endlessly as we had pondered the NT ambiguous sayings.

Until he learned to talk straight, without all these innuendos and double-meaning, then we are no more better-off understanding him than in his 1st coming.
