Changing One's Name

I have a few concerns regarding changing one's name to an Islamic one. I know it's not an obligation. The name I have in mind is Khalil Abdul Nasir, I just want to know if the name sounds foolish, because I'm not too keen on my Arabic. My other concern is not having my father's name in it, after a bit of reading online, I found that it is considered a sin to not represent your father in your name. Maybe I wasn't understanding, but I figured I'd come to this forum for advice. Thank you in advance.

I don't think many Muslims here identify as Sufi.
I am not Muslim or Sufi, but did change my name when I was 48 years of age(now close to 70).
I changed my name because I was making a big change in my life and wanted to somehow represent my new direction.
Follow you own heart with confidence can be my only advice.

And welcome to this exceptional forum. :)

See that's where I'm at in my life, I want to make a fresh start and feel like a new person, I identify as a Muslim, and when it comes to Sufism, I feel more compatible with the ideology. I just want some clarity on my chosen name, I think it sounds great, but to an Arab speaker it may sound foolish, so I'd like to get some insight on that before making that step.

Thank you for the reply! :) Have a great day.
