BJP (Hindu) politician offers reward to behead actor and director

How many said that Islam was violent because of the Rushdie fatwa or for other events. Here's an example from another religion in this case from a government official over a movie. This underlines my contention that fanaticism and terrorism is pretty universal these days sadly. Just to say it before the challenge, this is in no way reflective of Hinduism. And this applies to the majority who follow any of the major world religions.

He made public statements that he would pay for their murders. So why don't they arrest him, and the others?

I think its useful for some Hindus to remind themselves that religious fanaticism isn't the exclusive domain of the Abrahamic Faiths.

The Muslims getting slaughtered by Buddhists in Myanmar is another example.

I agree to a large extent, noting however, that a politician’s personal view is not Hinduism and that I have faith that there is only infinitesimal chance that any Hindu will carry out the beheading for money.

Of course, in history there are examples, like that of killing of Gandhi, which was not done for money but for sake of ideology. The present rulers of India belong to the same ideological group. We are living in such times.

People who point to universalism, to oneness, to the main teaching of the Veda “Truth is one, sages name it differently”, are shouted down and ridiculed or banned.

In such times, it is most important to maintain one’s view of the non dual truth in focus all the time. The pictures will come and go.
