Reality

Is reality eternal?
The universe is eternal, life comes and goes, the "universe" may be destroyed but think of it like a virtual box. You're running the system on your main system, that's the universe. If it "crashes" for lack of a better world then reality will still exist to all. Sure it will be in the afterlife but still.

Is reality eternal?
Seems to me that means, is energy eternal?

I have a pet hypothesis that spacetime is a property of energy (mass-energy), rather than that energy exists within spacetime.

Be that correct, then 'eternal' would depend on whether energy wears away, collapses into nothingness in some or other fashion, however slowly. (Whereas atomic particles collapse into energy, more or less, however slowly.)

At present we don't think energy does diminish (or gain) in quantity.

But again, still running with my hypothesis, there may be states of energy in which time (a customary ingredient in the concept 'eternal') ceases to exist, or goes backwards, or takes an unfamiliar form, or whatever.

So I offer the answer, if energy is eternal in the sense of continuing through time, in principle without limit, then reality is eternal; and otherwise, no.

The reality now was vastly different from the reality hundreds of years ago. If it’s enteral it evolves rather quickly.
