Hope

I am a Christian and I believe in God because of hope. Hope flows from my belief in God and humanity.

What is hope for you?

Well Nate, I used to have hope. But the more time passes by, the less hope I have. My hope well is almost dry.

Hope for me is a conviction that things in life are going to turn out alright (not necessarly that they'll stay that way).

Hope? For me it's faith for not something that is but something that could be.

What are we without hope? We plan our futures with it. I am careful though to be adabtive when what I hope for does not turn out how I would like.

I do have hope. My hope is in Christ. I believe Christ died for our sins and was resurrected, and if we believe this we can accept Him as our Savior and Lord. Then we have the hope of Heaven. Isn't that a precious hope?

Sure it is, but we cannot let that hope allow us to slip into escapism.

We should work on what we can do together to make life in this world better for people on the basis of hope rather than daydream about a eutopia.

I do have hope. For me, hope is nothing without context, i.e. something to be hopeful about. I hope for the best, I hope for the future, I hope for humanity, etc.

I don't know as it does much "flowing".

I tend to hope for intangables--world peace--end of poverty--cures for cancer and aids. I don't hope for personal things because I figure I can either achieve them myself or not. Hoping for something on a personal level just doesn't seem productive to me.

One can believe in God and have no Hope in them. Hope is described as the desire of something together with the expectation of obtaining it. My Hope in God doesn't seize, but the Hope of me obtaining it differs from day to day.

Yes I suppose they would--I guess I tend to think of hope as being desire on a grander scale for something perhaps unattainable. So, for example I don't "hope" for mac and cheese for dinner--because that is something I can achieve--or "hope" I pass chemistry--because again it is something I need to do to achieve. I can "hope" for world peace--but my single efforts would not achieve would peace. Does that make sense?
