Sometimes I just love 4chan
what started in one school thanks to the news started a wave. a troll wave. a wave of spider webs that any in opposition cannot stand against. its 4d chess at its finest.

funny how he is a true liberal. though it would appear not since the left is now authoritarian. though nice dismissal of opposition based on party politics and buzz word labeling. very effective.
furthermore ironic when you look at his demographic which he did a video on based on youtube's algorithm and poll showing that there are far more centrists and even left-wing traditional liberals than those who fall under "alt-right"

I worry about the quality of the posts on this forum sometimes, but then I remind myself that posts of the maturity level of this thread are a minority here, thankfully.

I've never heard anyone say it isn't alright to be white. To say that it wasn't OK or that your skin color is something to be ashamed of is ludicrous (and the very definition of racism). But, this is nothing more than a straw man, as no one argues it is not OK to be white.

actually many are. watch the video. many on the left. they don't say it directly but through many other ways. though not just this video i can link you mounds of cases of them making that exact point. its not ok to be white to some and simply being white itself is bad to some

If they don't say it directly, you are most likely unconsciously putting words in their mouths. For example, saying that white privilege exists in the world is in no way saying that it isn't OK to be white. It doesn't mean that all white people have an advantage. And, it doesn't mean that we should all feel guilty for slavery, as no one alive participated in it. It just means that white people are in more positions of power in the U.S., and we face less discrimination generally.

no that's not at all how they perpetuate it. I can list 1000s of examples and I mean 1000s. they perpetuate it as a race card. as if white people are inherently superior that even in a full equal society they will oppress others. that is how they direct it. ive had long discussions with those who hold such ideals. it may originally have been that but that is not how the left portrays or uses it
the video lists many examples of that from actual sources. its not just some "alt-right" dude ranting no its a traditional Liberal reading through official articles, hardly taking anything out of context

which are all the articles he goes over in the video.
he does many videos on this topic and lists sources to all the articles he reply's to.

I watched the video and I don't care about swearing, but something about the way this guy swears really grates on my nerves.
One thing they never, ever say, is how the thing they perceive to be so bad affects them directly.

He's not a liberal. He's an alt-righter playing the conservative card for views. It's pretty popular these days. I'll ask again since I haven't had an answer. What are you favorite media sources?

Alright, I don't think any of these would qualify as official communications. And, none of them say that it isn't OK to be white. But, here are a couple of points:

1. The fact that a majority of white people feel discriminated against in this country doesn't mean it is true. Personally, I've never for one second felt discriminated against because I'm white. I think the people who do confuse growing equality with discrimination. For example, affirmative action was absolutely necessary 20-30 years ago, but it might not be necessary anymore. But, obviously, a lingering policy that should be changed in no way evidences discrimination. It just means that our government has failed to act, which is true pretty much across the board when it comes to policy that needs changing.

Since during the 60s, 70s, and 80s (and even into the 90s) racism against minorities was extremely prevalent, actions had to be taken to make things more equal. White people were (and still are) in more positions of power, there was segregation (which was inherently unequal, even according to SCOTUS), white supremacist groups were running rampant killing and assaulting minorities, etc. Because whites were on top then, equality would mean that said privilege would slowly disappear to give minorities better standing in this country.

So, it seems that this change, starting to remove some of the privilege that the white population had in this country to make things more equal, makes some people wrongly assume that they are being treated unfairly. But, in actuality, it is the definition of fairness.

2. Individuals in a group making statements are not making official statements unless specifically indicated. It is absurd to hold an entire population (liberals, conservatives, democrats, republicans, blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, etc.) responsible for statements made by individual members of that group.

It would be like me claiming that the views of white nationalists who identify as conservatives represent the conservative movement in general. Or, that the views of that nutjob white supremacists showing off his illegal firearms online who got arrested represent the views of all NRA members.

So, there is no official communication here that I see claiming that it is not OK to be white. Personally, I don't see skin color as anything to be proud of, no matter what color it is. So, any sentiment that people shouldn't be proud to be white rings true to me. We shouldn't get credit for what our ancestors did, just as we shouldn't be blamed for the horrors they perpetrated.
