For those of you who got your hopes up from the last post but didn't read it,

I just wanted to make sure you saw that the white house doesn't care about climate change in anything they do. However we should do all we can to try to save the world with whatever issue no matter how grim it is.

It's really too late, if I were you I would learn to prep and a hard skill. 3-4 C increase is guaranteed by now.

Nor do most people, global warming is usually dead last on the list of voter's concerns, somewhere behind invasion from Mars?

The belief that bad weather is caused by bad people angering Gaia, is the oldest superstition known to mankind, it has always been used to extract 'sacrifices' from the gullible. Switching scary masks & dances for scary computer sims does not make this superstition any less scientifically illiterate.

So to you you can just **** up the planet and nothing will happen? Do you also think pollution has no effect? Or that unlcean water is safe to drink? There's this thing called cause and effect and the evidence is by large not simulation. How can you, not a climate scientist who's dedicated their entire life to this study, say with any understanding know so much more and better than the mass consensus among specifically climate scientists?

The evidence is there if you would care to look, but there seems to be a very special interest in the public to deny what we are already seeing the effects of. Believe it or not, but temperature does in fact affect the weather. Any idiot can casually observe that the two are linked. We have temperature readings from tens of thousands of years buried in ice around the world and it's pretty clear what happens when the overall global temperature changes way too fast: a ton of stuff dies.

I mean, it's actually pretty sensible. Unstable weather makes for poor plant growth and that messes up the entire food-chain. And evolution works generationally so the kinds of changes we are facing will put high environmental pressures and what can't survive that will die off. We humans alone, irrespective of climate change have caused a mass-extinction event comparable to ones that happened long before we ever existed.

How much more can we **** up our environment before you realize it's a bad thing? Humans are so inherently selfish and destructive and people in your political group (I'm assuming you are on the rightwing/conservative side here since it correlates very heavily) tend to recognize that due to how you are afraid of that behavior in others and yet you somehow think it only magically applies to how people treat your group, not to anything non-human or hell even how your own groups might treat other people.

I'm surprised the sheer concentrated irony of a devout Christian trying to call something "superstition" didn't just collapse into a black hole.

climate change is just one link in a chain of events that are affecting the planet and all becoming more relevant and an issue as time goes by. At the same time we have overpopulation, ecosystems collapsing, the destruction of many species and deteriorating resources and economic systems to name a few. They are all connected and will gradually cause a domino effect as they continue to deteriorate. for example many insects are being diseased, mutated and dying through climate change, pesticides and the agricultural methods such as intensive crop growing and this will affect other species up the food chain as well as the ecosystems that may relay on pollination and plants. I think most people know we have had a hand in affecting nature whether it is through climate change to a greater or lesser degree, pollution of enviroments and desruction of ecosystems through human actions.

Most and especially polititions do not see this as important becuase the solution is too hard. It means taking hard and unpopular decisions which will threaten their jobs and they are only looking to the next election win by making promises about more jobs and economic growth which requires more of the same destruction of our enviroments and resources. We have left it too late because noiw it requires drastic action which means people sacrificing their conmforts and most do not want to do this. Rather than build resource intensive cities and estates they shold be going the opposite way and creating farmvilles where people go back to basics because that is what we will end up doing if nothing is done.

The problem is the rich and powerful bankers and corporations that control the economy and the polititians will make sure we continue down this track becuase that is exactly what they want, a world where many become poor and they become more and more powerful. In the end this will destroy even their power base and no one will be safe and happy.
