So I'm praying constantly for the grace to be a Healer and the gift of Prophecy.

In the Bible people were constantly prophesying and healing people.

There needs to be more people doing those things and there will be more believers.

Jesus said ask and you shall receive. Ask anything of the father in my name and he will give it to you.

If God doesn't give me the Graces I'm praying for, that makes God a liar. Is God a liar or am I going to receive The Graces I'm praying for?

Healing you might get. But you will never be a prophet as a Christian. Jesus was the last prophet in Christianity, all others since then are deceivers.

Mathew 7:15-20

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall receivers.

Your a long way from being Christian though, let alone a healer. It takes more than prayer. You have to commit. Which your not ready for yet. Sorry :(

I will have to plead nolo contendre. God's grace does not come on demand.

You are not necessarily a liar, but you are self-deceived, or possibly egocentric as to the nature of God's Grace.

God is the sea and we are the fishes . . .

1 Corinthians 14:5

I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

Mark 13 21-23

21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

In Mark 21:23 Jesus tells us to beware of any further prophets. Because He has already told us everything we need to know. Hence no longer a need for future prophets.

Ok I get what your saying. I think then that is ok, to pray for prophesying, so long as you don't go around claiming to actually be a prophet.

Jesus said ask and you shall receive.
Unfortunately, the apostles modified this one. It's a major bummer.

1 John 5:14-15 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us. 15 Further, if we know he hears us respecting whatever we are asking, we know we are to have the things asked since we have asked them of him.
This means that even if a righteous person prays for something important, if it is not according to will of God it will not be granted.

Besides this, there is the fact that if you are not a righteous person according to scripture, he doesn't listen to your prayers. This is then the first thing that you need to think about.
Proverbs 15:29 29 Jehovah is far away from the wicked ones, but the prayer of the righteous ones he hears.

Perhaps you are out of rock. Something like that. :triangularflag:

No and maybe and a qualified yes.

It doesn't say, "pray for these things"... it says " But desire earnestly the greater gifts. "

Desire doesn't mean you pray for it and definitely get it as it is written, "But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.", so it is as He wills and not because you prayed. The potential is that as you love, you open up the portals of possibility that He will use you in these gifts of the Spirit. These are not permanent gifts but rather individual opportunities as you learn to respond to His Spirit.

The "more excellent way" to operate in these gifts is to love people. When Jesus move with compassion, miracles happened.

HOWEVER,

Anyone can lay hands on the sick and pray the prayer of faith. Again, that isn't an act you "ask for" but rather it operates by your faith. One must know what faith is, how it works, how you get it and what can stop it from working.

Is God a liar? " Absolutely not! God must be true, even if every human being is a liar, as it is written: So that it can show that you are right in your words; and you will triumph when you are judged." Romans

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.
Prayer is redundant. Prayer is ultimately a meditation on your own self-awareness.

It would be better for you, if you prayed for wisdom. With wisdom, you will have those 'graces.'

I don't agree that these scriptures says there will be no more prophets but rather watch out for false prophets and don't believe when someone comes and says "I am the Christ".

Acts 15: 32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
Acts 21:10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
1 Cor 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

All of these prophets were after Jesus and none of these mentioned were false prophets.

You're being childish.
Matthew 18 (NKJV)
Who Is the Greatest?
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Lol! But thanks for correcting me :D

It would be better for you to say, you may possibly have those graces.

Essentially the Baha'i faith does pray for the wisdom and understanding of God's graces which exist universally for all humanity.

To be exact, it wasn't my intention to correct you, I thought your line of thinking, in my thinking, is childish, I've danced around these thoughts myself and realized I was being childish.

that's not how it works. you can't ask for those things, that's unacceptable. only saints can do these things. are you a saint?

God can change me into one. If I was hearing clear messages from God , I have no doubt that I would become a saint
Actually, if you are a believer in Christ, it automatically qualifies you as a saint! :D

Romans: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians: Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
Ephesians: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

And so forth and so on.
