If you could change one thing about the past...

If you could change one thing about the past, what would it be?

I would have stayed sober...intoxicants really lead to a lot of embarrassment, hurting others, damage to the brain, and broken bones and other serious injuries, which I'm still recovering from.

Yeah... I'm convinced that intoxicants open up the doors to Satan...I see nothing so evil that destroys so many lives and leads to so much rape, assaults, incarcerations, insanity, and murders... it's sad to see so many decent people become monsters under the influence!

I just see drugs as a waste of time, when I could have really been doing something meaningful.

I'd take fifty different random history textbooks from this era and drop them into the 1500's.

Just to see what happens. :p

In fourth grade, I was one of several boys who mocked a girl who was seriously hard of hearing and had deaf speech. Once I became old enough to understand how cruel I had been, I experienced a fair amount of shame and guilt.

Happy ending: I found her through the Internet and got a chance to apologize. Remarkably, she not only couldn't remember thinking badly about me, she told me that she had had a crush on me. We're now Facebook friends.

I feel that who I am now is a result of everything that I did/happened in my life.

So I've always kind of worried that if I changed something in the past I would be someone else. Perhaps someone I didn't like so much.

What was that movie? "The Butterfly Effect"?

Something like that.

Acting like a lunatic, in and out of jail and mental hospitals, fights, I stabbed a guy, I jumped off a building in a suicide attempt breaking my arm, back, ribs, pelvis, head injury, concussion, and tore up my knees, ...lots of madness, throwing up, health problems, homeless... I've been to hell! I'm declaring war on intoxicants!

I still have this problem actually, but I wish I had been wiser in taking some advice and help from others. I have some trust issues and I wish I had realized and worked on that sooner.

I wish I had finished school but abuse, dependency, depression and anxiety ruined my life.

School can be hard. Depression makes all that harder, and dependency kinda sucks. In fact I partially blame high school for encouraging thoughts that led me to depression and dependency. It didn't prepare me for college either and I'm sacrificing some of my high-energy hobbies just to get passing grades now.

Yeah... school drove me nuts...I don't know how people can handle it

I don't understand why people like school. I mean I liked some classes but not school itself. Really the only time I liked school was the beginning of my senior year before some drama took place. It was a nicer school but richer kids tend to be jerks.
