Questions about Judaism

If you are interested in a discussion of this, the concept of where, once the temple was established, most sacrifices were allowed to be made, in what spiritual state and by whom, plus any discussion of atonement and the sins for which sacrifice was at all efficacious, and the textual explanation for what to do now that sacrifices cannot be offered, I would recommend posting a question in the Judaism DIR which would be a good place for you to learn some of these essential aspects of Judaism.

Why did the Israelis stop doing the daily sacrifices?

Sacrifices are only allowed at the Temple.

Currently there is no Temple. Thus no sacrifices.

The Jews stopped doing any sacrifices (not just the daily ones) because we don't have an altar with which to bring them to. Deut. 12:13-14 prohibits us to bring sacrifices outside "the place that G-d will choose". We understand from there, that once the place is chosen, we can no longer offer sacrifices outside it. That chosen place is the Temple Mount and specifically the place where sacrifices are brought: the altar.

Today that place is inaccessible to us and so we may not bring any sacrifices.

In addition to that, its forbidden to enter certain areas of the Temple mount while under impurity from death (Num. 5:3 19:20). Impurity from death can only be removed with a special mixture made from the ashes of the red heifer. We do not have the capability of making this mixture today and so even had we access to those places, we would still be barred from areas of the Temple Mount that are necessary for Temple service, including some sacrifices.

Another problem is that the priests are required to wear the priestly garments when performing Temple service of which sacrifice is one of them. Ex. 28:43 prohibits performing Temple service without them on pain of death. However, there are some arguments among the Rabbis about certain aspects of the clothing. Choosing the wrong opinion is deadly and so the priests do not serve.

Lastly, Num. 3:10 prohibits Temple service by non-priests on pain of death. Today, after many years of exile, we no longer have genealogical records to determine who is truly a priest. Performing Temple service is dangerous today.

Are you asking why the Temple Mount is inaccessible to Jews? Are you familiar with the area in question?
Yes to the first question. No to the second one.

Also, there is apparently a way to at least vaguely determine the descendants of Aaron: Y-chromosomal Aaron - Wikipedia

Also, God can make exceptions to allow non-descendants of Aaron to contribute to performing sacrifices if they are sanctified in cases when the situation simply does not allow for viable alternatives. Example: 2 Chronicles 29:34

The flaying of the carcasses was not a job performed exclusively by the priests. The Levites could not help in the actual sacrifices or the collecting of the blood, though. The Da'at Zekeinim commentary on Numbers 4:47 explains, "the specific tasks performed by the priests included the slaughtering of the sacrificial animals, removing their skins, and the cutting up of the various parts of them, the Levites were commanded to perform auxiliary tasks as detailed in by Ezra in the Book of in Chronicles II 29,34 in connection with the Passover festival celebrated under the reign of King Chizkiyahu, when due to the few number of priests available, the Levites were called upon to help in skinning the many animals that had been slaughtered on that day."

This is currently located at the top of the Temple Mount.

It's illegal for Jews to ascend here without a police escort and no prayers may be said by Jews in this place. Jews have been incarcerated for making a blessing on the water they wanted to drink in the heat. An entire Temple is therefore obviously out of the question.

These markers only help determine that many people believing themselves to be priests descend from a single father. They don't say that that father was Aaron.

It depends on the aspect of the service. If you look at Lev. 1:1-8 you'll notice the placement of the words indicates this:
v2 - speak to the children of Israel...a man when he sacrifices a sacrifice to G-d...
v5 and he shall slaughter the bull before G-d and the children of Aaron the priests they shall bring close the blood and they shall throw its blood on the altar...
v6 and he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it to its pieces
v7 and the sons of Aaron the priest they shall give it to the fire on the altar

I've highlighted for you the difference in wording. I've added in some extra "they's" because translations to English don't always indicate when a Hebrew verb is written in the plural form.

When the verse speaks in singular, it refers to the man who is bringing the sacrifice. When it speaks in plural it refers to the priests. So a non-priest may slaughter, skin and cut up a sacrifice. Only priests may take the blood from the animal, bring it to the altar, sprinkle it there and offer up the animal parts.

Sadly, this thread is just more proof that chr-stians know absolutely nothing about Jews or Judaism.

What is even sadder than that is that all of the answers that they are looking for are found in what they insultingly call the “old testament.” If they would ever learn to read the Hebrew Scriptures in the context in which they are written, as opposed to just using it as a source to quote mine “proof texts,” they would find all of the answers they are looking for.

Even with all of the bogus mistranslations, the meat and potatoes of what is actually written is still there.

What would be a good English translation of Torah and Tanakh with good commentary?

I have yet to see one. My only suggestion is to learn Hebrew and Aramaic. All of the good commentary is in Aramaic.
Well, that's a problem then? Why accuse non Jews for being ill-informed when good translations do not exist in the world's major languages?

Well here's the bottom line: Torah was given exclusively to the Jews; N'viyiym was given exclusively to the Jews; and K'tuviym was given exclusively to the Jews. It's not our fault that a man-made pagan religion decided to steal our sacred texts and bastardize them to the point of nausea.

Everything that he say is "According to the Talmud" not
according to the Torah...

It is thee whom have stolen Ancient text and made a bizarre false religion out of it.
