Thanks for the explanation! something I have been meaning to ask for a while......must get myself a notebook.
No one is going to hell; there is no hell (until I find myself there, if I do). The idea that a good person, with a love of fellow man, with a clean conscience should go to hell just because he hasn't got a religious label on the back of his head is the most absurd idea (IMO).
My friend, The apostle Paul had a
clean conscience for along time
while he killed and tortured christians. He came to realize in
(Acts 23:1) that
he thought he was doing good all along while he was persecuting the church of our Lord.He repented and
obeyed the gospel in (Acts 22:16). but if he had continued to follow his conscience without repenting and obeying the gospel he might have ended up in this hell
you say does not exist. The consience is not a good guide to follow,UNLESS it has all the correct information. If our conclusion is based on the
truth instead of opinion we can make an educated decision. The bible says there is a way which
seems right unto a man,but
the end thereof is death (Proverbs 14:12). Jesus said he is truth
(John 14:6). Let us base our decisions upon the word of God.
I know many people who do terrible things to others but have a
clean conscience. The conscience cannot be trusted according to the bible.Man has a tendancy to look upon his wrongs as small indiscretions, but all the while thinking others are involved in bad sins.
In our mind it is possible we have a particular understanding of what we
THINK a
good person should be.We also have
our understanding of what love is in our mind. The problem
might be that
our perception and the word of God
may not be the same. We are going to be
judged by the word of God not our perception of love or a good person (John 12:48). If our thoughts and the word of God do not
harmonize, according to the bible we will end up in that place called hell. Many people have
judged thenselves unworthy of eternal life by rejecting the word of God
(Acts 13:46)(John 12:48).
Naaman the lepor in (2 Kings 5)
thought the prophet would come out and do some kind of
miracle in front of all the people.
Instead the prophet told Naaman to go dip in the river Jordan seven times. Naaman
got upset about that. He
thought that river was to muddy.Naamans problem was he was full of pride and did not have the right attitude.Naaman wanted to be saved in
a Burger King style,he wanted it
HIS WAY. That is pride speaking loud and clear.
Pride did not help the Pharoah of Egypt one bit when Moses approached him with the word of God. We think we have it all figured our until we look into the word of God.Then it is that we find out God did not do things like man would have done things. God said my ways are not your ways, your thoughts are not my thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9). Grace instructs us according to (Titus 2:11,12). Surely we all want to be within the grace of our Lord. The only way we can do that is to look into the word of God with an open mind and be wlling to change into the same spirit Jesus had according to (2 Cor.3:18).
If no one is going to hell please explain to me (Matt. 7:13,14)? The wide passage leads to hell. According to God most people will go to hell because of the choices they made. in love Baerly
