Discovery on all access only. CBS is stabbing poor Americans in the back.

Selective exclusion is an inherent part of paid services as I understand them.
I have not once said that I think this is illegal. My point is that as an American who is being excluded from seeing it on a service I have, while they are showing it on that same service
everywhere else, is wrong. I don't know how else to put this. From my point of view, along with a lot of other Americans that can't afford to add yet another monthly bill, that CBS is shafting us. My overall opinion of CBS has dropped immensly. F*** them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out. Yet, the underlying issue, that truly irks me, is how CBS is using it against Americans. It reminds of the way Big Pharmaceutical companies charge Americans so much more than any other country. If these companies had any patiotism at all, this wouldn't be the case. But, you know how it is, everything here in the U.S. is about the almighty dollar.
Its not just CBS. Disney, Marvel, HBO, Google and others are attempting to split some of the marketshare away from Netflix and Amazon. They don't know how to do it, because people do not want commercials and also want all of the movies in one place. Netflix has a lot of market bargaining power. They can tell you what your show is worth to them and take it or leave it. This means that Netflix is killing the market, and eventually when the other players are thinner the price for Netflix will go way up. Notice that Netflix has started producing its own material? Its trying to replace CBS and all the rest, and eventually it can if things continue.

Meh. I'll wait for the fricken DVD. Who cares what CBS does or does not do? It's not like one has to see the series RIGHT NOW!
True. No one is going to die. But, for the true fans, hardcore "Trekies" the waiting will be torture. And the knowledge that the rest of the world can see it on the same, pay service we already pay for, just not us, is just leaving a really bad taste in my mouth. SHAME on CBS. SHAME!

I would prefer to see it back on regular television. Commercials are fine. Netflix has had original content for a long time. The other stuff is dated, but fun to binge anyway. The pay to see, is the same as HBO, SHOWTIME, etc. I know the bottom line is profit. Money is God in this country, regardless of what anyone claims.

Star Trek just hasn't been Star Trek since Gene Roddenberry's death anyways.
But, where there's a will there is a way - a way that may not be ok to discuss here.
Yes, the loss of Gene was a terrible thing. Then, when we lost Majel it was devastating. But, the dream goes on, as do their memories and visions as long as we fans keep them alive.

Show production gots to be paid for somehow.
People gotta make a living.
Don't like the cost....then don't watch the show.
It's why I don't eat lobster.
But you don't hear me complaining that lobster ain't free.
No one is asking for free lobsters - some of us prefer commercials to paying cash. If a business does not want to listen to the voice of consumers believing it knows better, I'm free to find another lobster vendor that will serve me a delicious plate after 5 minutes of watching grease being destroyed, hair being mangled and pills curing whatever you have if you don't get sick from them.

We don't always get what we prefer.
Doesn't do any good to get upset about minor things.
Tis best to save one's ire for big things.

When something, like Star Trek, is your favorite series of all time, and then it gets jumbled up with this kind of nasty, slimy, greed driven market manipulation, it kind of is one of those things.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

It's been rampant in the video game industry for a while now. It's just pathetic and sad to see it's gone this far out of control throughout other media as well.

Best way to fight it is simply not buying into their products or services.

Thanks for the advice. Not an option for me currently, due to living arrangements.
Well, I was being a little facetious. I am not a fan of TV.
But the fact that you have such a specific goal. One that many nerds on the net would "feel your pain".

Something I want to add here is this, people pirate things all the time. That doesn't make it any less stealing. People often justify that because it's an abstract form of stealing. But it is stealing, which is why it's illegal.
