Luke 16:23 (ESV Strong's) and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

If hell is just a common grave, why did Jesus include TORMENT in His story? If one is dead and gone, what TORMENT is there?

It was Jesus in torment, it says nothing of the others being in torment. Jesus didn't deserve to die or go through what he did, He was most assuredly sad from what he found-99% being mislead on earth. As it was for the majority of history.
The OT teaches--On the day of ones death, all thought stops. One cannot feel torment if they cannot think.
Jesus was the firstborn from the dead-- Do you actually believe God made Abraham suffer in Hades for 3500 years before Jesus came. Being tormented--- It is symbolism.

@kjw47 the truth is that the governing body come to their conclusions about what the Bible really teaches by comparing scriptures and reasoning on how they can be in harmony with their purpose for Paradise Earth.

What that means is that they don't actually hear from Jesus. Have they ever said they do?

Paradise earth is a 100% reality--Psalm 37:9-11,29= the new earth. Gods kingdom in full control forever--not a new planet.

They are mortals bought from the earth. Who become spirit beings. They will rule as kings and priests on thrones beside Jesus, Even judging the fallen angels. Rev 20-- Rev 1:5,6
Judas was picked by Jesus, he would have been one of them if he stood. Not all stand. The bible clearly teaches---Many will be called, Few will be chosen.
No! If a person stands faithfully. according to the governing body teachings, it does not mean he will be one of the 144,000.

Actuall "few will be chosen" might have been originally (original is what The Holy Spirit says) few will choose.
Few will choose to stay by Jesus Christ.

First I must call out your (@kjw47) canard that all trinity translations are from Catholic origins. The KJV has its origin from the Textus Receptus translated by the Catholic monk Erasmus who had only 6 Greek manuscripts and the Vulgate for references. Nearly all modern versions utilize the Nestle-Aland and USB Alexandrian text with over 5840 manuscripts available. Two different text types with an enormous difference of quantity of sources and translator's religious affiliation i.e. Protestant.

An honest man will not continue to misrepresent truth once he has been corrected and accurately informed.

Next , after several attempts to encourage you over a long period of time, you have refused to directly engage these texts which identify Jesus as YHWH in the O.T.. Your own version is quoted. The reason you divert is because you cannot reconcile the heretical teaching of the JW's rejection of the deity of Christ and the affirmation of the deity of Christ written in these verses of your NWT.

Your avoiding/hiding/ignoring any attempt to address them shows beyond the shadow of doubt that you know the slippery-slope you are on and promote the lie even in the face of your own version of the Bible's opposite teaching. And what does that say about you and your attachment to this sect?

I predict that, in view of this self-defeating dilemma, it won't be long before the JW's will correct (read mistranslate God's truth) their version again to accommodate their errant theology.

Greek scholars not being paid by trinity $$$$ say--its the best translation ever done. They are correct--unbiased opinions hold a gazillion x more value than a paid opinion.

@kjw47 You believe the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is the faithful and discreet slave, but Jesus does not say that. They say it. You believe them because you want to believe them. What else do you believe[3] just because you want to? You are being taught to believe that anyone who disregards the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses will die an everlasting death. You believe that because you want to. Doesn't that make you the bad guys?

All men are imperfect and make errors. Correction is done by the wise who keep looking. Peter had to make corrections in his books. Titus was left behind to correct error teachings that got in. Paul corrected Peter on an occasion. Jesus encouraged the Pharisees to make correction to their errors that Got in. 0 doubt they were Gods chosen until this-Matt 23:37-39)-- they were unwise and thought for sure they were standing strong. Satan beat the majority on earth today, centuries ago.

I agree, all men are imperfect, but when they are being "led by the Holy Spirit" they won't make mistakes!

Where did Peter ever correct what he himself taught?

Lol, why did Paul correct Peter? It wasn't his 'teaching' Paul corrected, it was his behavior.

Galatians 2:11-12 (ESV Strong's) 11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.

If one is being LED by the Holy Spirit, one cannot make mistakes. If one makes mistakes, one is NOT listening to the Holy Spirit, therefore one IS NOT being LED by the Holy Spirit!

Facts and the teachings of Jesus back the JW teachers.

Lol, you mean "FACTS" like these from your "JW teachers"?

Watchtower November 1, 1922 page 333
"Bible prophecy shows that the Lord was due to appear for the second time in the year 1874. Fulfilled prophecy shows beyond a doubt that he did appear in 1874. Fulfilled prophecy is otherwise designated the physical facts; and these facts are indisputable. All true watchers are familiar with these facts, as set forth in the Scriptures and explained in the interpretation by the Lord's special servant."

Please don't let this post go unanswered like you did the last one I posted this quote in.

The kingdom is in heaven. After the resurrection, no matter where one stands they will be under the kingdom of heavens rule. Revelation says it will be like a tent over mankind Rev 21:3)--meaning full protection always. On the earth that occurs.
The faithful of old will be resurrected--alive and well, on earth.

This is just sickening! You actually believe that your "real teachers" who continually screw up their teachings, who aren't able to hear what the Holy Spirit says to them for years at a time are going to be in heaven, but Abraham, the FATHER OF FAITH and Issac who the blessings to ALL mankind came thru will NOT be in heaven? And you believe that everyone but you are being deceived?

One has to know many points to understand that truth. One needs to learn milk first. Real truth--it is Gods will-John 4:22-24--it is now abundant here in these last days( Daniel 12:4)--

Not too abundant, your "real teachers" are still having trouble finding it!

Yes I know how. Prayer, discussion of facts. Holy spirit guiding truth at the proper time( When God wills)

*** w13 7/15 p. 3 par. 2 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
2 Through the years, Jehovah’s servants have prayerfully studied Jesus’ prophecy about the last days.

Thru the years, Jehovah's servants PRAYERFULLY studied, and STILL GOT IT WRONG!

*** w13 7/15 p. 8 par. 19 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
In review, what have we learned? In the beginning of this article, we raised three “when” questions. We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great. Then, we reviewed why Jesus’ judgment of the sheep and the goats did not begin in 1914 but will occur during the great tribulation. Finally, we examined why Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation.

I like how they didn't say, WE MESSED UP with our teachings, but said, "we first CONSIDERED", "WE REVIEWED" and "WE EXAMINED". Why didn't they do that in the first place?
