Distortion of Hadiths

Hello my Muslim brothers and sisters.

Here is some Hadiths in Sunni books that are distorted:

1.Ibn 'Asakir [a Sunni eminent scholar of Hadith and history] wrote in his book:

Muslim [the author of the Sahih Muslim book] is also narrated it from Abi Bakr bin Abi Shayba .... The Hadith:

"There are many persons amongst men who are quite perfect but there are none perfect amongst women except 4 ones: Fatima daughter of Muhammad, Khadija daughter of Khowayled, Mary daughter of 'Imran, Asiya wife of Pharaoh."
(Al-'Arbaeen fi Managhib Ummahat Al-Mu'mineen by Ibn 'Asakir, V.1, P.84)

But, see what is in the current Sahih Muslim:

Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger (s) as saying:

"There are many persons amongst men who are quite perfect but there are none perfect amongst women except Mary, daughter of 'Imran, Asiya wife of Pharaoh, and the excellence of 'A'isha as compared to women is that of Tharid over all other foods."

Unfortunately, the names of Lady Fatima (as) [daughter of Prophet (s)] and Lady Khdija (as) [wife of Prophet (s)] are deleted from the current Sahih Muslim book. Note that Muslim has narrated this Hadith in the chapter which is about the virtues Of Lady Khadija (as), but the names of Lady Khadija and her daughter, Lady Fatima (as) can not be found in the Hadith!!!

See the distorted Hadith of Sahih Muslim in the following links:
1.Hadith - The Book of the Merits of the Companions - Sahih Muslim - Sunnah.com - Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad

2.Ibn Hajar Al-Haythami wrote in his book:

It has been narrated from Prophet through the different routes of the narrators which make strong each others: "The example of my Ahlul Bayt among you is like Noah's Ark, whoever boards it will survive." And there is also in the Hadith that Muslim has narrrated: "And whoever misses it will drown."
(As-Sawa'iq Al-Muhriqa by Ibn Hajar Al-Haythami, V.2, P.445)

But this Hadith can not be found in the Sahih Muslim!!!

3.Al-Haythami also said:

Muslim, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa'i, Ibn Maja, Al-Bayhaqi and others have narrated from Prophet:
"The Mahdi is of my progeny, of the descendants of Fatimah."
(As-Sawa'iq Al-Muhriqa by Ibn Hajar Al-Haythami, V.2, P.472)

But this Hadith is not in current Sahih Muslim!!!

4.Muslim has narrated in his Sahih that Umar said to Imam Ali (as) and Abbas (ra):

Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah (s) had said:" We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is [to be given in] charity." So both of you called him liar, sinful, imposter and disloyal. And Allah knows that he was true, virtuous, well-guided and a follower of truth. When Abu Bakr passed away and [I have become] the successor of the Messenger of Allah (s) and Abu Bakr, you called me liar, sinful, imposter and disloyal.
(Sahih Muslim, V.3, P.1377)

But see the distorted version of the Hadith in Sahih Al-Bukhari:

Then `Umar turned towards `Ali and `Abbas and said, "You both claim that Abu Bakr was so-and-so! But Allah knows that he was honest, sincere, pious and right. Then Allah caused Abu Bakr to die, and I said, 'I am the successor of Allah's Messenger (s) and Abu Bakr.'
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, V.7, P63)

5.Abu Dawood At-Tayalisi has narrated in his Musnad:

Narrated An-Nazzal bin Sabra:

`Ali offered the Zuhr prayer and then sat down in the wide courtyard [of the Mosque] of Kufa in order to deal with the affairs of the people till the `Asr prayer became due. Then water was brought to him and he drank of it, washed his face and hands, and wiped over his head and feet.
(Musnad At-Tyalisi, V.1, P.125)

Note: Wiping over the feet is a part of the ablution that Ahlul Bayt (as) lerned to Muslims, so that Shi'ites do the wiping. But Sunnis wash their feet.

Unfortunately, Al-Bukhari has distorted the Hadith as the following:

Narrated An-Nazzal bin Sabra:

`Ali offered the Zuhr prayer and then sat down in the wide courtyard [of the Mosque] of Kufa in order to deal with the affairs of the people till the `Asr prayer became due. Then water was brought to him and he drank of it, washed his face and hands, and mentioned his head and feet.
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, V.7, P.110)

Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani said that the original version of the Hadith is the Hadith of Musnad of Abu Dawood At-Tayalisi See Fath Al-Bari Sharh Sahih Al-Bukhari by Al-Asqalani.

Ya akhi,

There is no distortion in what you have posted.

You posted two different hadith narrated by two different people. That's why the wording is not the same, and even then they are not contradictory, rather they supplement eachother.

Also, just because you find a hadith in one author's book and not in the book of a different author is not distortion either.

As for the insults being replaced with "so and so", this is from the etiquette and manners of the Ahlus Sunnah, in that we do not need to repeat the details of what kind of insults are mentioned against the best of people and our brothers and sisters in faith.

If there was a hadith in which a man was cursing Ali (ra) with foul language, would you like the curse words to be written verbatim or to be replaced with something general? I would hope that it would be the latter.

Lastly, washing the feet lightly is well established in the prophetic tradition.

see excerpt from Is it obligatory to wash the feet or wipe them during wudoo’? - islamqa.info :

Muslim (242) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (ra) that the Prophet (pbuh) saw a man who had not washed his heels and he said, “Woe to the heels from the Fire!”

Ibn Khuzaymah said: If wiping were sufficient to discharge the obligation, there would have been no warning of the Fire in this case.

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said:

There are mutawaatir reports from the Prophet (pbuh) which describe his wudoo’ and state that he washed his feet. He is the one who explained the commands of Allaah. There is no report from anyone among the Sahaabah which differs from that, except from ‘Ali, Ibn ‘Abbaas and Anas, but it was narrated that they retracted that. ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Abi Layla said: The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) are unanimously agreed that the feet should be washed. Narrated by Sa’eed ibn Mansoor. End quote.

Fath al-Baari, 1/320
If you follow Muhammad (saw), then his actions are clear. And if you blindly follow what has been falsely attributed to Ali (ra), then the words of Allah (swt) are sufficient as a warning.

"And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination." [4:115]

I advise you to learn about the science of hadith and to stay away from small sects and denominations. Stay with the majority of the muslims as Allah and his Messenger have commanded and you will not go astray.

“Those who came before you of the people of the Book split into seventy-two sects, and this ummah will split into seventy-three: seventy-two in Hell and one in Paradise, and that is the jamaa’ah (main body of Muslims).”

Narrated by Abu Dawood (4597) and others; classed as saheeh by al-Haakim (1/128)

And Allah knows best.

Dear brother,

The routes of the narrators are the same. Also, it is clear that the virtues of Ahlul Bayt (as) have been deleted. Some fanatic person have deleted the virtues of Ahlul Bayt and then they have deleted the bad properties of those who are holy for Sunnis. This is nothing but distortion of the true history for hiding the truths which do not support the sect.

There are many Prophetic Hadiths in which it is mentioned that Prophet wiped over his feet. But here is not for mentioning them. See here. Only I say that the Hadith in which is "Woe to the heels (اعقاب) from the Fire!", this can be translated as the following: Woe to the descendants (اعقاب) from the Fire!". The Hadith is as the following:

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr:

Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) remained behind us in a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the `Asr prayer which was over-due. We were passing wet hands over our feet [wiping the feet]. then, the Prophet (ﷺ) addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice, "Woe to the 'A'qab (الأعقاب) from the Fire."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book 3, Hadith 2)

Indeed, one of the meanings of 'A'qab [أعقاب] is descendants . See al-maany dictionary here. When the Prophet (s) saw that his companions (ra) were saying their prayer too late, he said them "Woe to the descendants (الأعقاب) from the Fire" meaning: My companions who see me and listen to my sayings directly, say their prayer late, so how will be the doing of the next generations?! He (s) said this to encourage them to say their prayers at the time. Allah says [Chapter 107]: Woe to those who pray (4) but are heedless of their prayers (5)

Dear brother, Allah says that Abraham himself was alone an Umma [nation]: Indeed Abraham was a nation [all by himself], obedient to Allah, a Hanif, and he was not a polytheist. 16:120

So, the Jama'a is the group that follow the truth, even when there is only one person in the group. So Prophet (s) said: "Verily Islam started as something strange and it would soon again revert [to its old position] of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole." Narrated Muslim in his Sahih, Book 1, Hadith 280.
He also said: "Ali is with Quran and Quran is with Ali and they never separate from each other until coming to me at the Pool." Narrated Haakim in Al-Mustadrak and has said that it is Sahih. Az-Zahabi has also said in the Takhlis of Al-Mustadrak of Haakim that it is Sahih.
He (s) also said: "O people! Indeed, I am leaving behind two matters among you if you follow them you will never go astray: The Book of Allah and my Ahlul Bayt, my progeny." See here for the sources and Sahih grade of this Hadith.

In addition, Ibn Hazm who is an eminent Sunni scholar said:
"God damn that consensus from which Ali ibn Abi Talib and those companions who are with him exit."
(Al-Muhalla by Ibn Hazm, V.9, P.345)

All the best.

Mate you've lost your mind.

How jammah (majority) ever going to mean a single person or a minority?

And why would he say woe to the descendants if he saw someone wiping their feet and forgetting the heel?

If the only way you can continue in your blind following is by twisting words and looking for weird alternative definitions other than what is obvious then all the best to you.

Mate you've lost your mind.

How jammah (majority) ever going to mean a single person or a minority?
Okay, let us follow the majority and then hate and curse Imam Ali (as). Because Ibn Teymiyya said:

Certainly the majority of the Sahaba [companions] and Tabe'in used to hate and curse and fight him [i.e., Imam Ali peace be upon him]
(Minhaj As-Sunnah, V.7, P.137)

He also said:
Insulting Ali by majority of Sahaba [i.e., companions] is known.
(Minhaj As-Sunnah, V.7, P.147)

But, when Ommul Mo'mineen Umm Salama (ra) saw that people curse Imam Ali (as), she said:
I heard from the Prophet (s) that said: "Whoever curses Ali, has cursed me."
(Musnad Ahmad, V.44, P.329)

Az-Zahabi, Haakim, Sho'ayb Al-Arna'oot have said that this Hadith is Sahih.

Muslim has narrated that Imam Ali said:

"By Him Who split up the seed and created something living, the Apostle (may peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a promise that no one but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would hate me."
(Sahih Muslim, V.1, P.86)
Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated: when the verse "You are only a warner, and there is a guide for every people" was reaveled, the Messenger of Allah (s) put his hand on his chest and said: "I am the warner" and he pointed to the shoulders of Ali (as) and said: "O Ali! You are the guide. Only Through you the guided ones will be guided after me."
At-Tabari has narrated this Hadith in his Tafseer book (see Sura 13-Al-Ra'd, verse 7). Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani in his book, Fat-h Al-Bari Sharh Sahih Al-Bukhari has said that the chain of the narrators of this Hadith is Hasan

And why would he say woe to the descendants if he saw someone wiping their feet and forgetting the heel?
first I should say that the Hadith says that all the Sahaba wiped over their feet I said in post #3 that why Prophet (s) said that saying.

Good Bye!

Another distortion:

At-Tabari, Ibn Al-'Athir Al-Jazari and Ibn 'Asakir [eminent Sunni Hadith and history scholars] have narrated:

Addressing Imam Ali (as), Prophet Muhammad (s) said:

"This man is my brother, my Trustee and my Successor among you, listen and lend ears to what he says and obey his orders."

Al-Kamil fi At-Tarikh by Ibn Al-'Athir Al-Jazari, V.1, P.661

‌But unfortunately, Ibn Kathir [an eminent Sunni Hadith scholar] has distorted the Hadith 300 yrs after At-Tabari as the following:

"This man is my brother and so-and-so, listen and lend ears to what he says and obey his orders."
