Is the model prayer for Christians today?

Are Christians under the New Covenant to pray like Jesus taught the Disciples under the Old Covenant to pray?

Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV Strong's) 9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

I don't believe we are. What do you believe?

Gentiles graft in to the original stock, meaning there are circumcised and uncircumcised. The new covenant is an extension that includes more people but does not make the eternal covenant old or expired. I assume prayers are not bound by time. The prayer is timeless, meaning that even when God's will is done in the Earth it will continue to be prayed. I think it is a prayer for God's will to be done at all times not only in the future. It is an expression of lament and of hope.

Dear dj,
It is hard to say. As "Christians" belong to the church of Paul, they have only one prayer (Romans 10:9). As for those who are disciples of Yeshua, and partakers of "you kingdom come", they hare a different outlook, and the above prayer is for them. One prayer belongs to the "many" (Matthew 7:13), and one prayer belongs to the "few"

You should rethink that position. Christians for thousands of years said it does

Maybe the thousands of Christians got it wrong! Why should Christians after Pentecost pray for the Kingdom of God to come? The Kingdom had come already. Unless Christians think that there are disciples that Jesus was talking to still alive today.

Mark 9:1 (ESV Strong's) 1 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”

Luke 9:27 (ESV Strong's) 27 But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”
