Was looking online (yeah, I know, horrible aint it). and remember a couple of people here interested in the Lukumi or Regla de los Ocha religion or santeria. Here is a site that warns about people who are misleading new comings on information about religion. I think I've been bambuzaled but I'm lucky to have two Babalows in my area.

Advice for New Commers (into the religion)

Best advice to actually start with the faith is to start with your ancestors. After that, I suggest you need a guide of some sort, grandparent, and so forth. It's not a do-it-yourself religion.

Later folks.

Hi.
No I'm an Awo.though was a Santero before making Ifa.

Nice. I had to look it up. I'm familiar with the title Babalowo. I used to talk with a Babalowo where I lived. A santerio gave me a reading to see if I was called to the Orishas. He said not yet and just make a good relationship with my ancestors first. That and in American it's expensive.

How long have you been an Awo? Where you raised into it? Converted?
