160 Reasons Jesus Christ is Almighty God

It's not a fallacy, and even as a non-believer it is quite obvious to me that the bible does not teach that Jesus is God. We read in the bible that Jesus states "Trust in God; trust also in me." Clearly, he is speaking of himself and God as distinct entities. He also is recorded to pray to God on numerous occasions. Does it make any sense to pray to an external "God" entity if you are God? Of course not.

I have already addressed your question in an earlier post regarding the historical, Christian, orthodox teaching/definition of the Economic Trinity and the person of the God-man Jesus Christ.

By an exegetical response I mean that I would like to see a direct response to the texts and context of the Biblical passages presented, demonstrating how the expositions offered are contrary to the translation and intention of the original, inspired author. Not, for example, as @MJFlores, who simply presents rabbit-trails, misdirection, strawmen, pictures, gifs, memes, cartoons, and repetitive indoctrinations of the INC cult (no ad hominem but as defined by all Christian organizations) which openly reveals the absurdity of their heretical system.

Go to the texts. Refute, if you can, by grammatical, historical, scholarly means that the Bible isn't saying what it's saying.

“But what about you? he asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘THE CHRIST OF GOD.’” (Luke 9:20 NIV, emphasis mine)

The Bible clearly stated that Jesus is “the Christ of God.” If Jesus is God, then God (Jesus) is the Christ of God. This is an absurdity.

“Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16 NIV)

Although the apostles teach that Jesus is the Son of the living God, however, the Bible also tells us that Jesus, the Son of the living God, is man in nature:

“And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, ‘Surely THIS MAN WAS THE SON OF GOD!’” (Mark 15:39, NIV, emphasis mine).

Thus, the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is the Son of the living God, and not the living God.

“So, all the people of Israel should know this truly: GOD HAS MADE JESUS — THE MAN YOU NAILED TO THE CROSS — BOTH LORD AND CHRIST.” (Acts 2:36, New Century Version, emphasis mine)

Christ’s lordship doesn’t prove that He is God, because if so: (1) then there will be two Gods, Jesus (the one made Lord) and the God that made Jesus as Lord; and (2) God is a “man nailed to the cross” as what the Bible explicitly says about Jesus.

“The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had murdered by hanging Him on a tree. GOD EXALTED THIS MAN TO HIS RIGHT HAND AS RULER AND SAVIOR, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 5:30-31, Holman Christian Standard Bible, emphasis mine)

Jesus is our Savior, but He became our Savior because “God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior.” Although, Jesus is our Savior, but the Bible also mentioned that He is a man exalted by God.

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (I Timothy 2:5, NIV, emphasis mine)

Apostle Paul’s statement clearly said that “there is one God.” And we are certain that the “one God” referred to by Apostle Paul is not the Lord Jesus because he also mentioned that “the man Christ Jesus” is the “MEDIATOR” between the one true God and men.

“The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has GLORIFIED HIS SERVANT JESUS. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.” (Acts 3:13 NIV, emphasis mine)

“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and JESUS CHRIST, WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.” (John 17:1,3 NIV, emphasis mine)

According to the Lord Jesus Himself, to attain eternal life, we must who the one true God is and we must accept that Jesus is the one SENT by the one true God. Indeed, Jesus is different from the one true God who sent Him.

Thus, let us stick to what the Bible teaches about Jesus.

If Jesus is the “Christ of God,” the “Son of the Living God, and the Mediator between God and men, who is the one true God? The Lord Jesus answered this question In John 17:3 and 1:

“Now THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE: THAT THEY MAY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD...
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: ‘FATHER, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.” (John 17:3 and 1 NIV, emphasis mine)

About a week ago, I had a meetup.com group to discuss the Bible, and one lady there did not believe in the Trinity or that Jesus is God. She also believed that God's name was hidden and that there was only one name of God, too. It was very strange.

I am praying for her.

No. 1 John 5:20 says,
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life."

John 17:3 is saying the following,
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee [i.e. you, the Father] [,] the only true God [i.e. the Trinity, which would include the Holy Ghost], and Jesus Christ [i.e. the Living Word], whom thou hast sent."

For we see the Scriptures say elsewhere many times about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Note: The brackets in blue above (within the verse) is my commentary to the text.

For the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. The Word pre-existed before it became flesh and John 1:1 says that the Word is God and was with God.

1 John 5:7 says there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.

Side Note:

As for the common man:

Well, the common man thinks they do not need Jesus so as to be saved. The heart is deceiful and desperately wicked. Only a person who is born again spiritually can see the truth of God's Word.

No. 1 John 5:20 says,
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life."

QUESTION:

“Who is the true God mentioned in 1john 5:20? "We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know Him Who is true.and we are in Him who is true-even in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” The verse clearly said "His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."

ANSWER:

Sorry, but you used a wrong translation of I John 5:20 because this rendering of the verse contradicts itself. The verse clearly stated that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came. Now, if Jesus is the true God mentioned in the verse, who is the “Jesus” that the same verse mentioned as the “Son of God”? Then there will be two “Jesuses”: the True God and the Son of the True God. This is how Young’s Literal Translation (take note – literal translation) rendered this verse:

upload_2017-5-29_10-25-31.jpeg

I John 5:20 YLT
“and we have known that the Son of God is come, and hath given us a mind, that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ; this one is the true God and the life age-during!”

The Son of God which the same verse explicitly said, “in His Son Jesus Christ” came to give us mind (understanding) that we may know “HIM WHO IS TRUE.” This the verse mentioned “Him who is true” is not Jesus because the verse also said, “in HIS son Jesus Christ.”

The Son of God, Jesus Christ, came to make known “Him who is true” which the verse referring to when it said “THIS ONE IS THE TRUE GOD.” Thus, the true God mentioned in the verse was not the Son of God, not Jesus Christ, but the one “Him who is true” that Jesus came to make known to us. THIS IS ONE OF THE MISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, TO MAKE KNOWN WHO IS THE TRUE GOD.

Who is the true God Jesus made known to men? This is what the Lord Jesus stated in John 17:1 and 3:

John 17:1 and 3 NIV
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

upload_2017-5-29_10-26-43.jpeg

The verse said, “he (Jesus) looked toward heaven and prayed: Father…” And Jesus added, “This is eternal life: that they may know YOU, the only true God…” And how did the Lord Jesus introduce Himself? He said, “and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

Thus, the "True God" mentioned in I John 5:20 is not the Lord Jesus Christ, but the one that the Son of God (Jesus Christ) made known to men as one of the reasons why He came (why He was sent).

The KJV is superior to the YLT.

The YLT was translated by Robert Young, without any requirement of his work on God's Holy Word to be proofread by anyone or any committee.

This is not the case with the KJV, which was a trusted Bible for hundreds of years. YLT was published in 1862. Yet, the KJV was around since 1611. Are we to assume people did not have God's Word before that point? Surely not.

You make a great point that the Modern Translations pervert God's Word.
Do you realize that even the Modern Translations also have the devil's name within them, too?
Granted, I am not saying that Modern Translations cannot be helpful. I use them all the time to help update the 1600's English in the KJV. But Modern Translations have a bunch of problems within them, too. They should not be your final word of authority. Only the KJV is the perfect Word of God for our world language today.

I believe you missed the point altogether. Logos is there in the Greek manuscripts.
I nowhere dismissed it's usage, even if in a footnote. The point I was clearly making is that you misquoted the text of Jn.1:4 in an attempt to further your bias against the truth explicitly stated in the prologue of John, wittingly or unwittingly.
Unwittingly perhaps but never wittingly, and may it please the court that the NIV of John 1:4 is "In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind." In the KJV it is "In him was life; and the life was the light of men."

The Son of God has given us insight to know Him who is the Real God. Now who was the Real God made known by Jesus Christ, the Son of God?

1 John 5:20 was written by the same apostle John who wrote John 17:1-3

John 17:1-3Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

After Jesus said these things, he looked toward heaven and prayed, “Father, the time has come. Give glory to your Son so that the Son can give glory to you. You gave the Son power over all people so that he could give eternal life to all those you have given to him. And this is eternal life: that people can know you, the only true God, and that they can know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.

Does the word ONLY mean two of them?

only.JPG

No. Jesus said the Father (you) the only true God.

Is it important to know that the Father is the only true God and Jesus was the one sent by the Father?
Very important because if you don't, then you won't have eternal life.

Yes, you find a lot of references to Jesus as God in the NT. What if, however, Jesus were God, and not the son of God? Most of the NT would be false, it would be a conglomeration of misguided and irrelevant verses. Assuming there is no son of God, the Trinity would be useless. What a "holy" predicament!

God creates a son, but we call the Trinity eternal. Oh, oh. How can this be? If God created a son, the Trinity cannot be eternal. How do resolve this contradiction? There is no problem if there is no son of God. Furthermore, if there is no son of God, Christianity is a pagan religion. Christians can save themselves by worshiping God and ignoring the son of God, a false deity. Hey, Jews have it right, they don't acknowledge Jesus as the son of God.

Christians resolve the problem of Jesus referring to himself as both son of God and God by evoking the Trinity. If you see the son of God you also see God, the father. Very convenient, but also very confusing. You need to be a high order holy man to figure it out. It would not be an issue however if there was no son of God. Jesus would be God. Jesus stories in the NT would be false. I believe most of the NT is wrong because Jesus was not the son of God. Gospel authors made up son of God stories to promote a new religion. Would there be Christianity without the son of God? Probable not. Jesus would be the Jewish Messiah and Christians could be Jews.

If Jesus were God, and the Bible completely inspired by God, then why would Jesus be consistently referred to with phrases like "son of God;" "image of God," "Firstborn of [God's] creation," etc? I'd think that Jesus's nature as God would be explicitly stated; instead the Bible described a "son of man." If the authors of the New Testament had believed that Jesus was God himself, surely they would have explicitly said so, or God could have provided some extra divine inspiration at the very least, so that later Christians wouldn't have to conoct contrived explanations from the authors' words to make them say what they didn't.

THE ORIGIN OF THE TRINITY DOCTRINE

Is the doctrine about the Triune God or that there are three persons in one God (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) a Christian doctrine? This is what a retired priest admitted:

upload_2017-5-29_13-13-35.jpeg

“Though the exact terms in which the Church has formally defined the dogma of the Blessed Trinity…are not in the Bible, and may, therefore, in a sense be called unscriptural;…” [Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Pohle, Ph. D., D.D.,The Divine Trinity: A Dogmatic Treatise, p. 22.]

The doctrine of the Trinity is not in the Bible, and according to a retired priest, “therefore, in a sense be called unscriptural.” If the word Trinity and it’s doctrine are unscriptural, who invented the word “Triinity”?

“The term ‘Trinity’ is not found in the Scriptures,…The invention of the term is ascribed to Tertullian.” [Augustus Hopkins Strong, D.D, LL.D.,Systematic Theology, p. 304]

The term “Trinity” was invented by Tertullian in the third century AD. However, although Tertullian was the one who invented the term “Trinity,” but the “trinity doctrine” he formulated was a little different from what the Catholic Church uphold today:

“Tertullian was the first to use the term ‘Trinity’ and to formulate the doctrine, but his formulation was deficient, since it involved an unwarranted subordination of the Son to the Father.” [L. Berkhof, Systematic Theology, p. 82.]

Tertullian’s “trinity doctrine” was a little different from what the Catholic Church uphold today, because “it involved an unwarranted subordination of the Son to the Father.” This doctrine is called the doctrine of “subordinationism.” However, the Catholic Church teaches that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all equal, coeternal and co-substantial. Thus, this doctrine uphold by the Catholic Church was not their doctrine before the fourth century AD, because only then they formulated the “trinity doctrine” thay uphold today.

“…The Church began to formulate its doctrine of the Trinity in the fourth century. The Council of Nicea declared the Son to be co-essential with the Father (325 A.D.), while the Council of Constantinople (381 A.D.) asserted the deity of the Holy Spirit. Though not with the same precision.” [Ibid., p. 82-83.]

In the Council of Nicea in 325 AD, the Catholic Church declared that the Son is co-essential, coeternal and co-substantial with the Father. The council declared that the Son is equal with the Father. An act of abandoning the doctrine of the theologians before the fourth century AD. History tells us that before the Council of Nicea, all theologians uphold that the Son is subordinate to the Father:

upload_2017-5-29_13-16-25.jpeg

“Before the Council of Nicea (AD 325) all theologians viewed the Son as in one way or another subordinate to the Father.” [Eerdman’s Handbook to the History of Christianity, pp. 112-113]

However, although the Son was declared God and co-equal, coeternal and co-substantial of the Father, but the “trinity doctrine” was not yet complete. The declaration of that the Holy Spirit is also called came 56 years late. Only in 381 AD, in the Council of Constantinople, that the Holy Spirit was declared God.

Therefore, the first century Christians and the Bible have nothing to do with the invention of the word and the doctrine of the Trinity. Thus, the “Triune God” did not originate from the apostles, unknown to the first century Christians, and indeed unscriptural.

WHAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DECLARED

Clearly, the Bible proves that the true Christians firmly believe that there is only one God, the Father. The truthm they only learned from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself:

“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:1,3 NIV)

Not only for the true Christians, but also for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father is the only true God. The Lord Jesus also taught to His disciples how important it is to acknowledge the Father as the only true God. He said, “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God.”

Thus, the true Christians are those that uphold the biblical doctrine that the Father alone (the God and the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ) is the only true God.

This post is intended to address a subject which has been argued a number of times. I have read some and briefly engaged some of those who reject the deity of Christ because they say that the Bible does not state the words “Jesus is God”. I believe this argument is fallacious, violating the word-concept fallacy. Also it demonstrates a presupposed bias when so many Scriptures identify Christ as divine, attributing to Him many of the divine names given to God. I do not intend to deal with the many New Testament texts ascribing Old Testament references of Jehovah to Jesus Christ. Nor the many references equating Him as Lord in the N.T. with Kurios (Lord) in the Septuagint. I will only use the Apostle John in this post in whose writings reveal the Deity of Christ.

Revelation 19:13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

This section in Revelation is dealing with the coming of Christ. The Apostle John assigns a descriptive name to Jesus “The Word of God” (Gr. ho logos ho theos). This identifying Christ as “Logos”, the “Word”, is also used by John in the Prologue to his Gospel: John 1:1-18

John 1:1-18 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Deity of Jesus Christ

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The Witness John

6 There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.

9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Word Made Flesh

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’” 16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.

Note verse 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. The verb “was” (Gr: en, imperfect of eimi). The continuous action in the past of the imperfect tense of the verb indicates to us that whenever the “beginning” was, the Word was already in existence. “and the Word was with God…the Logos has been in communion and communication with God for eternity as well. The verb is the same as the first clause, and the preposition pros (“with”) pictures for us face-to-face communication. The Greek reads, kai theos en ho logos. We have the same situation in 1.1c.The Greek reads, kai theos en ho logos. Notice that the term Logos has the article ho while the term theos does not. This tells us that the subject of the clause is the Logos. Hence, we could not translate the phrase “and God was the Word” for that would make the wrong term the subject of the clause. Hence, the term “God” is the predicate nominative, the nature of the Logos is the nature of God, just as the nature of God in 1 John 4:8 was that of love. Now, John does emphasize the term “God” by placing it first in the clause – this is not just a “divine nature” as in something like the angels have – rather, it is truly the nature of Deity that is in view here (hence my translation as “Deity”). Dr. Kenneth Wuest, long time professor of Greek at Moody Bible Institute rendered the phrase, “And the Word was as to His essence absolute Deity.”

What he wishes to emphasize here is the personal existence of the Logos in some sense of distinction from “God” (i.e., the Father). The Logos is not the Father nor vice-versa – there are two persons under discussion here.

John 1:1 tells us some extremely important things. First, we see that the Logos is eternal, uncreated. Secondly, we see that there are two Divine Persons in view in John’s mind – the Father and the Logos. Thirdly, there is eternal communication and relationship between the Father and the Logos. Finally, we see that the Logos shares the nature of God.

John goes on to gives to Jesus another descriptive name: “The Light”, the “True Light”, the “Light of the world”.

Verse 14: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

The Word did not eternally exist in the form of flesh; rather, at a particular point in time He became flesh. This is the incarnation.

Verse 18: “No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. NASB

He first asserts that no one has “seen God at any time.” Now, the Old Testament tells us that men have indeed seen God in the past – Isaiah saw God on His throne in Isaiah 6; Abraham walked with Yahweh in Genesis 18. So what does John mean? He defines for us that the one he is speaking of here is the Father – that is, no one has seen the Father at any time. OK, then who was it that was seen by Isaiah or by Abraham?

John tells us – the unique God. Here the phrase is monogenes theos. There is a textual variant here. Many manuscripts have monogenes huios (unique Son) – and the KJV follows this tradition. But the strongest reading is “unique God.” How are we to understand this?

The term “monogenes” is used only of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Jesus is here described as the “unique God” – John is not asserting a separate deity from the Father. Rather, this ‘unique God” is the one who is eternally in fellowship with the Father. Even when discussing the “separateness” of the Father and the Son as persons, John is quick to emphasize the unity of the divine Persons in their eternal fellowship together. Here John teaches, again, the eternal and central fact of the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The unique God makes the Father known – He “explains’ Him. What we know of the Father we know because of the revelation of the Son. We know what the Father is like because we know what Jesus Is like. Here the Son’s function as the revelator of the Father is clearly set forth, and this is directly in line with the usage of the term Logos in the Prologue. Other New Testament writers use the same theme – for Paul Jesus is the “image of the invisible God” and for the writer of Hebrews Jesus is ‘the express image of His (the Father’s) person…” Both writers (or maybe just one writer if Paul indeed wrote Hebrews) are emphasizing the role of Jesus as the revealer of the Father. In the same way, this answers the above question regarding who it was, in John’s opinion, that was seen of Abraham and Isaiah. We have already had occasion to note that John will directly assert that Isaiah saw the glory of Jesus in the person of Yahweh (12:39ff), and could it be that this is the explanation for Jesus’ statement in John 8:56? Did Abraham “see the day of Jesus” when he walked with Him by the oaks of Mamre (Gen. 18:1)?

The conclusion is obvious throughout these few verses:

If Jesus is The Word. Rev.19:13

And if that same Word is God. Jn.1:1-18

Then Jesus is God.

So what? The Bible says any manner of strange and ridiculous things.

ACCEPTING JESUS AS GOD WILL RESULT TO ABSURDITIES
images

God cannot be the author of confusion and absurdities. The Bible explicitly said that “God is not the author of confusion” (cf. I Cor. 14:33 KJV). What God wants is to all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth:

I Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Do you know that accepting Jesus as God will result to absurdities?

A “SERVANT GOD”?

Accepting Jesus as God will result to accepting that the Almighty God is a “servant” of another God because the Bible explicitly said that Jesus is the servant of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob:

Acts 3:13 NKJV
“The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.”

This is absurd because according to Jesus Himself, the true God is greater than all:

John 10:29 NKJV
“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.”

And Jesus also said that “A servant is not greater than his master”:

John 15:20 NKJV
“Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.”

Accepting Jesus as God is accepting that “God is a servant of another God.” This truly an absurdity. Then, what is the truth? That the Lord Jesus is not God, but THE Servant of the One True God, the Father.

A “SUBJECT GOD”?

If Jesus is God, then “God is subject to another God” because the Bible said after all things are put under Jesus, He Himself “will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him”:

I Corinthians 15:27-28 NKJV
“For ‘He has put all things under His feet.’ But when He says ‘all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.”

A God subject to another God? A God under another God? This is absurd and unacceptable to true Christians because they uphold the teaching of the Bible that the true God is above all:

Ephesians 4:6 NKJV
“One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

What is the truth? Jesus is not God, but the Son of God that after all things put under Him, the Son Himself will also be subject to the One True God who is above all, the Father.

JESUS HEARD THE TRUTH FROM HIMSELF?

Jesus clearly said that He heard the truth from God:

John 8:40 NKJV
“But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.”

If Jesus is God, and because the truth He has told the people Jesus heard it from God, then Jesus heard the truth FROM HIMSELF?

What is the truth? Just what the Lord Jesus said, He is “a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God.”

JESUS PRAYED TO HIMSELF?

There are numerous verses of the Bible that mentioned Jesus prayed to God. This is one of those verses:

Mark 15:34 NKJV
“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’”

If He is God, then Jesus is praying to Himself? When He called “My God, My God” is Jesus referring to Himself?

Now,if they will say that Jesus is praying not to Himself but to another, then God praying to another God? What an absurdity.

The Lord Jesus Christ prayed to the One True God, the Father.

MARY GAVE BIRTH TO GOD?

Mary gave birth to the Lord Jesus:

Luke 2:6-7 NKJV
“So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

If they will insist that Jesus is God, then Mary gave birth to God? This is unacceptable to true Christians because it is clear in the Bible that:

Numbers 23:19 NKJV
God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

If those who believe in the divinity of Jesus will argue that when Mary gave birth to the human Jesus, He was not God then because He was incarnated (God became man), then they are insisting another absurdity. It is also absurd! Please ponder this: if God became man when Jesus was here on earth as a human, then there was no God in heaven!!!

What is the truth? Mary gave birth to the SON of the One True God.

GOD WAS CRUCIFIED AND DIED ON THE CROSS?
Jesus died on the cross. This is a fact accepted by all who profess they are Christians. The Bible attest to this fact:

John 19:31-33 NKJV
“Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.

Thus, insisting that Jesus is God is insisting that God was crucified and died on the cross. So, there was a three-day period in the history of the universe that God is dead? Absurd indeed. This is a blasphemy against the true God. About the true God, the Bible said:

I Timothy 1:17 NKJV
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”

What is the truth? It is Jesus who was crucified and died on the cross, not God because Jesus is not God, but the Son of the One True God.

GOD IS SITTING AT HIS OWN RIGHT HAND?

The Bible clearly said that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God:

Colossians 3:1 NKJV
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.”

If Christ is God, then God is sitting at His own right hand! Absurd, isn’t?

Then, what is the truth? The Lord Jesus is sitting on the right hand of the One True God.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH THEN?

What is the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ clearly written in the Bible that must accepted by those who wants to attain salvation?

I Timothy 2:3-4,5 NKJV
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

CONCLUSION

These are only some of the numerous verses of the Bible that proves that the Lord Jesus is not the One True God taught by the Holy Scriptures. Read the Bible and you will clearly see that the Lord Jesus Christ is different from the Lord God, that Jesus is the Son of the One True God, not God Himself.
