From his own mouth his intent was/is to band Muslims.

Generally speaking, economists tell us that it takes about three years before an administration's policies have a significant effect on the economy under normal circumstances.

Here is the deal, if there is something there, it will come out. Period. It will just take time. Eventually someone, somewhere is going to throw it out.

There's a danger here in that, since we've had a form of democracy for over 200 years, we really have nothing to fear about losing it, but the reality is that democracies are built on trust, and if too much of that trust is lost, Katy bar the door!

Throughout the world for the first time, democracies are in retreat, and I think you'll agree that we shouldn't be so complacent so as to believe that it couldn't happen here. Not likely, at least in the short haul, but possible.

Exactly! However, prosecuting any illegal actions could be problematic under this administration, but there's always the 2018 off-year elections.

In case you haven't noticed, there are a ton of shops closing. 100,000 jobs may have been created, but we've been hit with loosing so far this year over 3,000 stores. The number may top 800,000 by the end of the year.

She is covering this very thoroughly, and she is one very smart cookie. Our oldest daughter (50, and a high school teacher-- math) watched her a couple of times under my recommendation, and now she's totally hooked.

Yeah, I don't really understand what policies people think Trump has enacted that would already have an effect on our economy.

But I liked your previous response that cheered the heartening economic news. Honestly, that should be our response regardless whose policies caused it. There was an unfortunate lack of that during the economic rally under Obama by those on the Right.

BTW, I had a short "discussion" with Woodward in Washington back in the early 90's right after his presentation on media responsibility, whereas he repeated his oft refrain "Follow the money". .

....as well as Walter Cronkite. They were boring, and just presented the facts. Gods, how I miss them. It would seem that Ms. Maddow has taken up the banner. She has had Dan Rather on her show many times.

Though I should point out that I have heard many right-wing zealots consider Rather and Cronkite to be 'lying liberal nut bags'. I guess the truth burns the conservatives, just like sunlight.

Rachel has an evening show, repeated as a daily free podcast the next day. Good (well documented, honest) stuff.

The recession started in 2001.
It wasn't due to any Bush policy, but rather due to 9/11 & systemic instabilities
resulting from many decades of bi-partisan creation of many risk factors.
Obama did nothing of value to help the recovery. Moreover, he even took
steps to inhibit it. And GW Bush was no better.
