Should The State Actively Let You Suicide?

So? You asked what the state's response should be. The state shouldn't care if you consider life meaningless (it really isn't once you have kids), the state should only care if you contribute. That you see no point to tomorrow is your problem, not the state's. The state can't help you to opt out and still be a coherent entity.

I have been thinking about your post and you may have something there. Society, in my mind, requires me to live in a nice house with a nice lawn. That lawn is now in need of a good mowing. I think I may just embrace your way of thinking and demand society come over and cut my grass; and they should wash my vehicles while they are here.

Never has. I have found that those who believe they are "owed" seem to operate under the theory that it's okay to wrestle it away from those that have "earned".

I believe everybody is owed healthcare, education, a house and a bed. If I'm 20% poorer because some of my income went to a healthcare tax, I wouldn't care. I'd feel far happier that children with cancer can recieve treatment, or a poor kid can go to school or university.

I was under the impression from the OP that there would be a system set up to allow suicides....

You read me wrong, I meant its doesn't coast much to let someone die, it actually coast more to continuing to let them live in agony.
