Supporting Trump, now a religion?

I didn't see any post about this, so I thought I would link it since it's been gaining some traction online:

The actual article, where she cites religion as her reason:

Thoughts? Opinions? Well deserved mocking of this lady?

All this says is that both sides have their blind faith wackos--though the ratio is something like 95 to 20, socialist/shia Democrat to evangelical Republican.

There is no would-be-deity about Jesus, deities real or not, that is what they look like to us. And worshiping a US president as if he is a god is an extremely dangerous path. I don't care which one is crazier, the one with the nuke codes can do more real world damage.
I agree with you.
But I'll bet your left one that the gal in the Trump hat is really
just making either a pro-Trump or an anti-DMV statement.
Humor is afoot!

I suspect that many of these people might not know the difference between religion and politics. Nor, in fact, anything substantive about either. Their religion and politics are no more considered or meaningful than being a hard-core fan of a sport's team.

I did not have to assume--- on one occasion, they "helpfully" scratched "Jesus is Lord" in the paint on the back of my vehicle, where my darwin-fish emblem was.

On other occasions they left me a "nice" note explaining how only "jesus was lord" and similar witticisms.

They told me in no uncertain terms that they were Genuine Christians™. Of course-- I already knew that by their very intolerant actions....

Unless you can look into their heart you have to assume. Their conduct certainly would not say they are Christians.

Never forget: Two of the things Jesus would do, is curse a poor fig for not growing in winter, and pick up a bullwhip and destroy a place of business out of anger. Jesus was not always a pacifist.

Cursing the fig tree was to make a point and it would take to long to explain it to you and you would not believe it anyway .

Jesus did not use bullwhip and He did not destroy a place of business.

You may be right; perhaps Bill and Hillary will be demonized as a couple.

Cruz, possibly; although he might have some kind of "awakening" later on - kind of like Paul on the Road to Damascus.

Demonized? Not in the slightest-- they will be seen as heroes who died fighting the Great Fight, trying to stop the TrumpApoclypse -- and they failed, of course.

Then, naturally, we have the Judas character in the form of B Sanders...

I dunno-- their attitude is closely matched by Judgemental Folk I have met in here (for example).

Your constant superior, talk-down-to-everybody reminds me of those vandals quite well.

I see them and you as two peas in the exact same judgmental pod...

LOL! So the poor fig, who did not do as it was SUPPOSED TO DO-- grow fruit IN THE FORKING WINTER, had to die to make a point TOO WEAK TO EXPLAIN?

LMAO!

That's rich! And funny as heck!

LOL! I love it when I can school True Believers™ on their own "holey" book!

(one they obviously never actually read....)

Jesus interacts with Capitalism exactly twice in the bible stories. In one example, he commands is followers to pay their darn taxes-- "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's" on a question should Good Jews pay taxes to the government.

The second time, a good Capitalist Business had been set up as a fine convenience for those wishing to purchase temple accouterments. Naturally, it was a closed-loop business deal: the very BEST of all possible Capitalistic Ventures. The good temple priests had set the prices to purchase ingredients for the Mighty Spell Casting-- erm-- Sacrifices to YWEH. Payable in Hebrew coin only.

Who uses Hebrew coin, apart from the priests? Pretty much nobody.

So some enterprising folk very kindly set up a very convenient bank-- wherein they are happy to change non-Hebrew money for the Right And Proper Hebrew Coin.

VERY CAPITALIST.

And along comes the Hippy Jesus-- he doesn't like Capitalism--- in fact, he hates it-- he takes a whip and ruins their little marketing venture-- without so much of a by-your-leave.

Jesus was a Communist, you see-- he abhorred ownership of anything.

No. I have no interest in watching some asinine YouTube video. I would much rather you explain to me the definitive reason that we ought to be thankful that it wasn't Hillary in light of what Trump is and is not doing now.
