End of This System of Things

How many of you believe we are living in the what Jesus called the "last days" and soon to enter tribulation/Armageddon?

I see Armagedden as a metaphor. This is a process which happens within. We aren't in the last days. Some feel that the second coming of Jesus was added to the Bible to give Christians hope. They had a very rough time in the beginning and needed something to hang onto.

Jesus said that you will not know the time or the day in which he would return. That means that Jesus wants you to live each day as if he were returning, don't you think? I it's pointless and contrary to what Jesus taught for people to worry about the 'last days'. Live as you think Jesus wants you to live, and he'll take care of you. Correct?

The last days are a myth. They are, as Lightkeeper said, a metaphore for an innner process. But even assuming they were more than a myth, Ceridwen would be right in saying that one should live one's life without worry for the last days.

I think when Jesus said that you will not when he would return is telling us a watched pot never boils. I believe he taught how to find the Eternal within. He meant just live your life and it will happen when you least expect it. It's the same thing as the Zen master telling his student that being spiritual is just peeling the potatoes, you don't have to pray while you do. Be in the moment fully.

I encourage you to read the book of Matthew, Chapter 24 and 1 Timothy, Chapter 3. Then go to 2 Peter 3:3,4 "For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers... saying: "Where is this promised presence of his?" Why from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death all things are continuing exactly as from creation's beginning". Some people would have you think that the signs mentioned in Matthew and Timothy have always occurred, that nothing is diffierent and that we are not in the last days. Jesus said himself that in the days of Noah, NO ONE TOOK NOTE and as a result lost their lives. Pay attention.

I don't know if we are on the verge of the Messianic Age or not. All i know is that i'm not going to concern myself with something I have little control over. When it comes we will all know.

Are you just fishing for responses to quote the "Bible"? You never give a personal response, you only cite the "Bible".

Every generation since Christ has believed that the Kingdom of God is at hand. Every era has believed itself to be the last. just b/c we can find things today that we can abstract to appear similiar to the prophesy of the Last Days, does not mean they are coming. I believe the world will not end until we, human beings, end it, almost assuredly out of ignorance.

Well-said, Ceridwen.;)

I believe in the last days, Second Coming, etc., but cannot speculate if it's gonna be in a year, few years, whatever. While it's important to pay attention to the signs of the times, one shouldn't get too carried away worrying about 'when is this gonna happen', and 'when is this gonna happen'. As Ceridwen pointed out, it's better to simply live each and every day as if Jesus could return at any moment. Obsession with the last days can lead to false prophesying and other undesirable, overly-fanatic results.

Jesus will never come back to the earth in the flesh and blood of a man , so those who are waiting for that to happen will have a very long wait because it will not happen .................. but the PRESENCE OR POROUSIA is something that has been here since 1914 when Jesus was given the kingship of Gods heavenly kingdom goverment Daniel 2;44 daniel 7;13-14 .but many people are in blindness to Jesus presence in kingdom power ,but not those who kept awake to bible prophecy and chronology they can see it very clearly indeed . and soon Jesus will stand up and go into action . its all happening in these the last days . are you ready for the great day of Jehovah . have you put your vote in for Gods reigning king .
The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much. Zepheniah 1;14

Greetings! :)

How many of you believe we are living in the what Jesus called the "last days" and soon to enter tribulation/Armageddon?

In the view of us Baha'is, the end times have already come and gone!

Please note that the word in the original Greek is "eras," which means "world" or "age."

And as it happens, the translators who created the King James Version of the Bible picked the wrong meaning: this actually talks about the end of the Age!

We see it has having happened a century and a half ago, at the time when the Baha'i Faith began (fulfilling in the process the many Biblical prophecies about the event)!

(Of course, just as with the First Coming, the Second Coming consisted primarily of spiritual--not literal--fulfillments!)

Best, :)

but the PRESENCE OR POROUSIA is something that has been here since 1914 when Jesus was given the kingship of Gods heavenly kingdom goverment Daniel 2;44 daniel 7;13-14 .
What events occured in 1914 that point to this?

No, I do not believe were living in "the end of days," nor do I believe in such a theory.

bible prophecy is now well along in this time of the end , 1914 was when Jesus recieved his kingship in the heavenly kingdom goverment , this kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914 Daniel 2;44 Daniel 7;13-14 and his PRESENCE in kingdom power has been since that date, inline with bible prophecy and chronology. this date of 1914 is a very significant date indeed . this date of 1914 was the start of the last days , and soon Jesus will stand up and go into action . Jesus is now a reigning king in the heavenly kingdom goverment . and he is a warrior king. and the GOODNEWS about this heavenly kingdom is being made known all over the world Matthew 24;14 soon it will be the end of manmade goverments , and only Gods kingdom will be left. Just as DANIEL2;44 says , this heavenly kingdom was set up while these other rulers and kingdoms were still active , IN THE DAYS OF THOSE KINGS , the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin.Yes, in this time of the end the true knowledge is certainly abundant indeedDaniel 12;4 thrilling times indeed that we are now living in , Jesus PRESENCE IS ALONG SIDE US . and has been since he was made king of this newly established kingdom. making known about this kindom that has Jesus as its reigning king, is the thing to do for all followers of christ Jesus . and it sure is being made known all over the world by a great crowd REVELATION 7;9-10 - this great crowd are helping Jesus brothers to get the job done Matthew 24-45-47 Jesus brothers have remained faithful to Jesus , that is why Jesus is giving them all his belongings, and they are getting good spiritual food from Jesus own hand . helping the right channel is the way to go because it is being fed by Jesus . and then it can feed the great crowd from all nations revelation 7;9-10. and it is very good food that Jesus gives his faithful ones .it is all bible based good food .isnt the bible a most wonderful book to keep awake too.

the end days do not mean the end of the planet as some people teach , it means the end of a system of things , it will be the end of manmade goverments and rulerships , as Daniel 2;44 tells us, Gods heavenly goverment would be set up in the heavens at a time when manmade rulerships were still ruling, and it happened in 1914 ......... this is a very significant date that has a lot to do with bible prophecy and chronology . 1914 was the start of the last days of man ruling himself independent of God .and now we are well along into bible prophecy and things are moving ever foreward at a great pace .
(Mark 13:10) Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first.

Mankind will have their "last days". We won't be around forever. And as we have just recently acquired the ability to destroy ourselves, yet we do not seem to have acquired the ability to rise above our destructive natures, things aren't looking real good.

Yet who knows. Maybe when the threat of our own extinction becomes so obvious to us that we can no longer ignore it, we'll actually change for real, and begin a new epoc of human sensibleness. Or perhaps we'll wipe out most of the humans on Earth, but not all, and so the few that will be left will have to come together to survive.

All we can do is hope, and try not to be part of the problem.

I believe that we are on our last leg in terms of the human race destroying our earth in terms of global warming etc. but I don't think it will be that soon ror does it have anything to do with 'God's' will or Jesus's

Saying we're the cause of global warming is a load of bollocks. It's natural for the earth's temperatures to change like that. It's all a huge scam to get more money out of us. If they were THAT bothered we would have less plains flying in the skys.
Antarctica was a rainforest, now look at it. It's just snow and ice. Moving away from this.

I don't think it will be the end of the world as such. More like the end of Human Culture. And I think this will probably happen in the next 100 years or more. Especially if we keep fighting each other how we do and with all the extremists blowing things up. Whether all of the humans die, I dunno. It's most likely a few thousand humans will survive.
