Honestly, I don't know who that is more offenseive to, women or men.

*nods* very cool, I always wondered about that
Should men and women be under the same laws of protection concerning the veil? why or why not?
... I may start another thread on this

To be honest with you, everytime I hang out with my friends, whenever they see a pretty woman pass by, they start talking about how sexy she is.."hey look at her ***", "wow shes hot" and their eyes starts to gaze and explore every inch of her body. And that does not only happen here, but everywhere where there are men. Thats the way how most of men looks at women, by their physical attractiveness, its like their fate to do that. Just like diamonds, it attract thieves whenever its vulnerable. I feel really sad seeing how women show off their body to public, where are all those respect for themselves. Getting exploited and stripped in the name of art...where is...self-respect??egroen said:Are men really such slobbering pigs that they can not hold a decent conversation with a woman who is not covered from head to foot, without going off in a frenzy?

Melody said:You've obviously never been in a group of women when a good looking guy walks by. It's universal and no respect of religion. I've witnessed a group of muslim women (covered in sacks) with their heads together, eyeing a handsome man and giggling like school girls. I've witnessed a group of young Amish women doing the same.
By your reasoning, men should be wearing sacks too.
(covered in sacks)
jamaesi said:That's incredibly disrespectful. I'm going to guess this was in America where there is a very high change they are choosing to dress that way themselves (and good for them!).
jamaesi said:If a woman chooses to dress conservatively she's called repressed and people whisper about her as she passes.
It's tiresome.
Telling someone their dress looks like a sack is hardly ever polite. If you don't like it you don't need be insulting about it.I'm sorry you choose to see it as disrespectful. They look like sacks to me and I think they're hideous looking. I am still allowed my opinion. I think. Lately I've had some doubts.
You missed my point. If women are to wear the hijab because men are too weak to control their baser instincts, then men also should wear the hijab since I've seen the same behavior from women.
My sister's neighbor wears a hijab. Not because she wants to but because her husband converted to Islam and it was either that or he would divorce her. I'd say that's repressed.

Yes it is disrespectful and insulting.
They look like sacks to me and I think they're hideous looking.
Your opinion doesn't matter, for they are pious obediant women in the eyes of God, and that which DOES MATTER.
Peace
