On the RF you constantly see the religious count down. More and more people leaving religion. Religion isn't necessary. Religion causes problems for everyone.

What I need to know is why is a world without religion going to be better.

Will Russia the US and China suddenly get along.
Will Pakistan and Israel suddenly become friends
Will North Korea become a paradise.
Will the US no longer have Women, Immigrant, Black, Gay rights problems.

Please give me you best thoughts for why a world without religion is going to be better. I am extremely curious.

I'll give you 2 problems
The RF will no longer exist.
You won't be able to use religion as your fall back for why everything is bad.

Without religion there where would you Turn to Rant against? I Mean who is the evil empire then? Are you proposing a kind of pure Utopian future like Himmler had?

I am hopeful that the 4,200 religions would taper to a few
I am hopeful that 34,000 sects and denominations of Christianity would dwindle to a few
Most of them are false teachers anyway - worthless actually.
Let the them be.
When they close their chapels - there is always an opportunity to buy them cheap.
The sects do not see the economic viability of operating further - it is more of a continuing entity problem - their chapels are in a state of disrepair and fixing them would need money. While their members leave one by one or in droves.

Demise of Christianity: 1,000 churches could shut across Britain as congregations shrink

ALMOST 1,000 of the country’s churches are on the “at risk” register as shrinking congregations struggle to meet the repair costs.
Decaying masonry and rusting metal work have put 887 places of worship on the critical list as service attendance numbers continue to plummet.

A Save Our Spires appeal has just been launched to protect the 40 most threatened steeples while other of the Church of England’s 16,000 buildings face closure because of the perilous state of repair.

I am proposing nothing, I am curious as to what educated people believe will happen when Religion is gone from the world.

Thanks for replying and that's nice and all but why would the world be better if what you want happens. What improvements would come from it.

HA I reread your post i am preaching to the Choir on this one!!!! LOL...You are correcto mundo.... i have a major problem with religion as the evil empire. In fact the world is so bizaaro today that the new pope makes more sense than the president. That is not historically natural at all!!!! Then again an Elk ****ting in my driveway makes more sense than politics but hey I live in the boonies on the oregon Coast.

Since religion is personal, if I still practiced Catholicism and you took that away from me, I'd probably have a heart attack. Not because I've "fallin into some falsehood" but because whether it's false or not, it defines my life. Without religion (the traditions, culture, beliefs, that define what someone believes and practices and holds what true of life), people would literally shut down.

Without religion-Pagan, Christian, Toaist, Univeralist, Bahai-whatever-I can see people walking around like zombies not knowing what to do. Even atheist have a routine and belief and maybe traditions (like Hindu atheists) that shape who they are people. Taking out religion deprives people of that.

So, it wouldn't make our lives better to take out religion. It would help if we fix some of the politic sides of religion. Maybe take out politics.

The Vatican will be there to see the end of the world - I am sure of it - Revelation 18:5

While people are at it - we would buy their chapels at low bargain prices

Even atheist North Korea has a religion
The longer a man rule, he thinks he is a god.

(Yes, I know there are a few exceptions to what I'm about to say):

- We will be able to have more honest conversations about important topics
- We will more easily be able to remove all of the remaining "us vs. them" human constructs
- We will - collectively - have better morals and ethics
- We will be freer to use our cognitive abilities
- We will get closer to truly implementing universal human rights

Other than that, not much :)

- We could give blood so other could live
- We could give food to those who need most
- We could keep your place clean and dandy for your
- We could keep you warm when you are cold
- We could be at your side when calamity strikes

When people ask this question what are they thinking religion is; just the traditional organized religions? Any spiritual beliefs? In the modern first world, traditional religion is already dropping out of the game quickly.

So what would a world without religion look like in your question? Does it mean everyone is then atheists?

There won't be any information called the beast in the next generation of the program we're involved in so religion won't exist.

In the US, 81% of white evangelicals voted against their own best interests in the 2016 election. . . because Jesus.

And to answer all your hypotheticals. . . Yes, I believe all of those things would be better. A rational worldview regarding religious philosophy transfers to political, economic, and cultural worldviews. Not everyone, of course. . . But the proportions of reasonable people will be better and that's what counts.

Life would be better without religion.

One such example is Islam 800->1100AD . Did you know that 2/3rds of the constellation star names are Arabic? Or that the word 'algebra' and 'algorithm' are Arabic. Or that our numerals are Arabic numerals? Islam during this period was once an open intellectual center of the world in mathematics, engineering, medicine and it was all happening in Baghdad. And all the aforementioned advances in mathematics and astronomy (algebra, constellation discovery) are all traceable to this 300 year period. Free flowing and exchanging of open ideas among Jews, Christians, Atheists, ectetera took place. It was like a modern day Berkeley or New York, for example.

Then something happened in the 12 century. A scholar by the name of Imam Hamid al-Ghazali became quite influential with his religious ideas. What are examples of such ideas? That mathematics is the work of the devil. His works were translated and reproduced throughout the area at a rate rivaling the printing press of today. His religious influence sparked the collapse of their intellectual period and to this day Islam has not recovered.

The World will still be the same but the difference will be absence of fear, there are still a lot of people who have fear of god. Moral behavior is a product of evolution. There have been examples of altruistic behavior in primates such as chimpanzees.

Finally, the least religious countries tend to have the lowest rates of violent crime, are very educated, and have lower rates of poverty and corruption compared to more religious nations which tend to have much higher rates of violent crime and corruption. Overall, the world would be much better.

We'll have one less thing needlessly dividing us and providing such readily and easily available justifications for discrimination, violence, and other atrocious acts.
This doesn't cover what Christianity does. People fighting over drinking clean water versus what drinking clean water does.

Why wouldn't we just create something else that would needlessly divide us or just put more effort in other things that currently do.

Yes but how would it benefit us as a people.
