Dum Maro Dum first came out in 1971. It was featured in a Bollywood movie about that time.

The first time I heard it, was probably the same year or approximate in the very early 70s, at a stage music event in Fremont, California. Ever since, it has remained one of my favorites.

Here is one version decades later.

Listening to the debut album from 2000 by English band The Clientele the past couple weeks. It's described as the calm sound of a rainy day. They sound a bit Beatles-esque as well imo but less pop:
