"I'm wondering if you could please leave a positive comment about suffering because I've been seeing a lot of suffering everywhere and just wishing my Mother had aborted me."

Hi Pope, I was gonna send a PM because this above really tugged at my heartstrings. Instead, I wanted to make a public thread. It's not just I who cares about you! You are a valued member of the RF community!

Cheer up! The world may be uncertain and indiscriminately chaotic, but there is also much beauty, passion, and pleasure to find. It may not be fair, it may be horrible, but their is the sweetness of the morning birds choir, pleasure in the aesthetic, and the deep connections shared by close friends.

Hey Pope - I've only been here a couple of weeks but I have really enjoyed some of your questions. I want to echo what the others have said - and more to the point - to encourage you to keep asking the questions. I can't tell you what the answers are for you (in some cases I can't even tell you what they are for me) - but you can, and will, eventually, as long as you stay in the race and 'fight the good fight'. But you are definitely not alone in questioning God and if there is one, I can't see how he could possibly disapprove - he surely didn't give us questioning minds just to forbid us to them. Even in the Bible He didn't censure Abraham for questioning God's morality.

I really appreciate some of the wisdom I have seen in your posts as well. If God is going to burn you in hell, I think I'd prefer to be in hell with people like you than Heaven ;)

Well most of my believing friends have my prospects down to either toast or ghost - you're welcome to join me - but you have to promise not to glance accusingly in my direction between the flames if they turn to be right!
