A new Pagan temple for Poland!

I wonder if anyone is planning to build a temple and cultural centre somewhere, perhaps in Eastern Europe.

If anyone were plannning such a thing, I wonder what belief system it would be based around.

If anyone has any information on such a topic, please let me know.

Much appreciated.

The followers of the old gods continue to grow & prosper :)

Members of the Polish tradition Rodzimowierców announced in December that they intend to build a temple & cultural centre. They've already raised 6% of the total funds needed in a Crowdfunding campaign! :D

A pagan temple....

That is certainly an informative and specific title. Heck by many definitions of the word I am a pagan.

Actually the thread doesn't say 'pagan'. It says 'Pagan' - capital P. It may be a minor detail to you but the capitalisation is all-important to me (and this matters because Kirran nicked the thread & its title from me! ;) ). Pagan is a neutral (as in not positive or negative) collective noun; pagan is a perjorative term.

Who knows? There may be a Harry Potter temple coming somewhere.

I don't believe pagan is pejorative in itself but it may have been used that way just as black is not pejorative but has been used that way.

I would refrain from stating your opinion of how the words can be used as fact when it is far from such.

Whether or not the "p" in "pagan" is capitalized or not makes absolutely no difference at all, in my opinion.

Some people just leap at the opportunity to be offended.

The definition of 'small p' pagan is, according to Merriam-Webster and other dictionaries I've seen, is: "one who has little or no religion and who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods : an irreligious or hedonistic person".

It's a fact that 'pagan' has a derogatory definition in the dictionary and that this definition was predominant for a very long time - and probably still is in mainstream society. It's a fact that I capitalist the 'p' in order to avoid this common misconception, and that I'm not the only one who uses it this way.
