Hey love the Question
I see bible as a Road Map, an Instruction manuel, a lot of diffrent ways.
It has alway been able to help me solve my problems. Thats why it is so important to me
As Paul told Tim
" All scrit is God breathed and used for ..... " Long story short it is a major tool in my walk

It is very important in my christian walk
Paul tells Tim that all Script is God breathed. To me thats awsome
It is a map a instruction book and Faith builder many thing
I dont know were I would be without it:jam:

Without the Bible, there would be no Christianity, and not visa-versa. It's only logical that christians follow in the footsteps of our father through his word, the Bible. The Bible contains timeless lessons and morals that we can still apply today to improve the quality of our lives and our family.

"All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial."—2 Tim. 3:16

There was a Christian Church that worshiped the Risen Savior before all the books of the NT were completed and that decided the Canon of Scripture in the Bible...... so I would say that this statement is untrue.

<There was a Christian Church that worshiped the Risen Savior before all the books of the NT...>

Very improtant point in understanding the Bible, that we understand there were
three stages in the development of the final NT.

1 Jesus and the Disciples
2 The Disciples and the Early Church-----oral tradition
3 The Early Church and the Evangelists-----written

The Gospels followed the Church

Absolutely, taken with Christian Tradition, the services, etc., the Bible is very important to me.

I disagree with your interpretation. There was no set Old Testament canon in the first century, and there was no New Testament at all at the start of the Church. It took centuries for it to get all sorted out.

The Church, then, existed without a set Bible. The Christian Bible is dependent on the Church. If anything, if the Bible were completely wiped out, the Church could make a new one from Tradition. If there had never been a Bible, there could be a Church. However, if there wasn't a Church, there would not be a Bible.

The Bible is, then, certainly not the sole source of truth for Christians.

I used to think we as individuals could interpret the scriptures and it would lead to our salvation. Now, I believe different.

The conciliar Church has been practicing Christianity for 2000 years and am I proud enough to think that I can do a better job in a few decades........

Most everyone in the congregation walks up to the center of the church each sunday and kisses the scriptures that the Priest holds in his hand.............Yes we love the scriptures, the most holy writ.

I have been just told in the "religious debate" section that most people over there are not Christian and really don't care what the Bible says about anything.

I need to know if that is true here as well. Do you who claim to be Christian still heed what has been called the Word of God - or are you more affected by modern day "journalism?" Do you seek to know the will of God, or are you more interested in finding interpretations of His Word that fit your lifestyle?

This is an extremely important question to me.

The Bible is important to me - because it is the basis of my faith. I have encountered "atheist and irreligious" in this forum and they would mock - "It is true because the bible say so"

I find it amusing. Yet they wouldn't dare disprove the words. If I ask to lay down the errors - they wouldn't even offer one.
