To allow men to marry with another men is a state of disorder. A state of anarchism, lawlessness, violation, horror, confusion and a state of sickness.

What is wrong with those people who allow same sex marriages?
So you think God prefers same-sex couples to be unmarried? Why, in your opinion, does Allah like unmarried cohabitation for gay and bi couples better than married cohabitation?

please vote...do you think same-sex marriage should be legal?...if you are a Christian, Jew, or Muslim, please explain why according to your faith it should be legal.

I don't know how it can be justified from a Christian, Jewish, or Muslim perspective so please help me out. Gratias! :)

Purely in my personal opinion I Voted "no". But I'd shrug and let everyone else do it otherwise.

Marriage is an institution of legal bondage in which sexual desire is enslaved to the needs of reproducing property relations through inheritance by a legal contract. As if sex wasn't complicated enough we then decide to put money in there as well and then add living under the same roof so we have even more reason to argue when it's that point in the month. Marriage equality is equality of servitude and is ultimately a distraction from the abolition of the family as an institution of sexual repression, authoritarianism and indoctrination to reduce people to the state of misery and imprisonment known as "monogamy".

I want real freedom: the ability to have as many or as few sexual partners as I want and I don't want any legal documentation to stop me or tangle me up. No marriage. No divorce. Just sex. As my debased animal instincts say it should be. why would I want this fake crap that sentimentalises legal bondage and making every sexual non-conformist into something house trained and socially acceptable "pet" who is expected to be ever so great full for the opportunity to live in an equal state of sexual frustration? What kind of sick twisted person says "I want to be married and settle down because I want this person to my ball and chain for rest of my life?" It's disgusting. That's not "love" that's self-loathing. What a way to waste your life by conformity.

Family values are still fascist even if you put a rainbow flag on it. Its a rebranding exercise. It's still the same twisted little box which everyone must fit in to and gay marriage is swapping one box for another (even if it is "slightly" bigger- and that's practically all its got going for it).

I don't want to get married. I want to get laid. And I don't want it made "complicated" because the government wants me to conform to a grotesque and unhealthy status quo. If I want to get in bed in a pair of handcuffs, I'll ask for it. ;)

I'm not sure what the big deal is. It's just a piece of paper, that can give you some tax breaks etc. Considering most straight people are getting divorced these days, I am surprised to see that so many same sex couples are rushing to the altar. In time, the same sex divorce rate will start to climb as well. Probably down the road a-ways, but it will happen.

As far as it being legal? It was only ever illegal because of religious beliefs. Religionists at one time believed interracial marriage was an abomination. Now it is accepted worldwide. In time religion won't care anymore because that's how religion survives...by evolving with the times. Does god think it should be legal? Apparently so, since at least most of the christian population (2 billion) as well as other religionists (billions more) prayed fervently for god to block same sex marriage and well...god was silent on the whole manner. There is no way god could hear billions of prayers around the world on a subject he would definitely disapprove of (according to religionists) and not act on it immediately, if it should be illegal. The fact that same sex marriage is now legal, just goes to show that the god religionists believe in either doesn't exist or the real god doesn't care about the subject at all.

Given the existence of marriage, would you rather it included same-sex relationships rather than be purely for different-sex couples?

OK, so it's not that you are against same-sex marriage, but marriage.

Yes.

Think about it. Its your second date, you arrive and after one date your boyfreind/girlfreind then bursts out saying "I want to you spend your life with me, love only me and make babies! let's get married". Even the normal reaction is thinking "Stalker".

And yet we organise society around this principle? o_O

Eh, I'm cool with it to be honest. As long as it's not compulsory.

Of course it should be legal! I'm big on the idea of secular politics and the secular legal system, so I see absolutely no reason why any religious belief should have even the slightest bit of say in who can marry who. I take it further to include polyamorous marriage also. Just like I see now reason why a gay couple should be restricted from marriage, I also see no reason why a polyamorous trio/quad/ect. should be either. All marriage is is a legal contract that allows consenting adults to share assets and sign papers for each other, so if people are going to live together and share their lives anyway, why not let them in on the perks?

Yeah, I'd be cool with polyamorous marriage being legalised too. Although I wouldn't prioritise it anywhere near as much as same-sex relationships.

That is one trashy opinion.
How about you go on living with your parents and we grownups decide how to run a competent society?
Tom

I'm sure the grown ups can go to the theatre and watch a play about teen suicide called "Romeo and Julliet". Or maybe we can get a bit more modern with the kids watching a movie about one girls choice between bestiality and necrophilla in "Twilight".

How will the music industry survive without domestic abuse, heartbreak and unrequited love to draw inspiration from? Can society run without an endless stream of teenage boy bands paraded out to screaming girls because they are meant to idolise men as sexual predators at the epicentre of a culture of drugs, alcohol and self-harm? Or that those boys have to "suck it up", repress their feelings and act "tough" because they are supposed to be the stoic breadwinner weathering any storm?

Who in their right mind would want to question their self-worth after getting dumped because they did not fulfil their designated role as a "partner"?

sure, its a trashy opinion. But no-one decided society should be organised on the principle we can only have "the one" and therefore will twist all human sexuality into the perverted form to fit in it. Yet everyone lives with the consequences. its worth questioning that before we say this is the idealised standard LGBT people should live by.
