Hindu priest Narayanachar L. Digalakota from the popular Sri Siva Vishnu Temple in Lanham, Maryland offered prayers at the National Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral for Trump.

The article below says this is "the first time" a Hindu Priest has done so at the NPS at the Washington National Cathedral, I am not so sure this is true as "first time" but Trump visited Hindu temples, and members of his family as well and one of his sons and his daughter did actual puja to Sita Ram.

I know for a fact he received a lot of support from Hindus because of Trump's concern over Islamic extremists and associated terrorism. Right now there is a five day celebration among a large Hindu organization here in the US that has had national attention here on US Hindi television and ZeeTV adverts as well.

But we don't have any stats r.e. how many Hindus voted for Trump?

I saw projections from immediately before the election that there'd be about 25,000 Hindus voting for Trump.

Pew Research is probably your best bet. It's got a lot to look through, and often the stats don't include Hindus per se, other than under the 'other' category. Here's one table that did include Hindus. U.S. religious groups and their political leanings

Ah yes, good old Pew!

The numbers in that you linked to make sense to me, r.e. Hindus (13% leaning Republican, 61% leaning Democrat and the remainder none, independent or third party).

I am surprised that the voting JWs skew so Dem though.

I think Hindus, Jews, Ahmadis, Christians, Sikhs and Mormons are united against Islam.

Its more honour for us. Because this has been prophecied 1400 years ago that all religions will unite against the Truth.

It is as if they are saying: let us put our differences aside and fight against islam.

Nonsense (Pew), American Hindus supported Trump because of his stance regarding Islamic terrorism, and don't equate Trump with the Republican establishment because the GOPe hated him.

This is as phony as the polls that said the Dems would retake the majority by a landslide - exactly the opposite happened. No one believes the MSM polls anymore. American Hindus absolutely supported Trump over Hillary in large numbers, they also now have R-Orange candidates running in California. The Dem Party is the party that is full of excuses and toadies for Sharia Law which persecuted Hindus in India.

Another example of how this Pew nonsense doesn't apply to Trump is the figure showing the biggest supporters of Republicans are Mormons - and, this is a false dichotomy when applying this to Trump since the Mormons played no small part but were major players in the NeverTrump movement, examplar being Glenn Beck and the Mormons had their own anti-Trump candidate. In addition, the hardcore Mormons besides supporting Evan McMullin and Ted Cruz, not Trump, one of the top leaders of the NeverTrump Republican establishment was the Mormon Mitt Romney. Trump won the state of Utah however, in the end most in Utah voted Trump, not everyone is hardcore Mormon there. There is nothing more opposite to the interests of Hindus among major parties than the Democratic Party of the USA. The problem with the Alt-Left is, their leftism and politics is more important to them than their Hinduism if they ascribe to that.

Nice try, but wrong.

There is Red State (Rep), Blue State (Dem), and there is Orange State (Trump).

It is as if they are saying: let us put our differences aside and fight against islam.

Most people, including Muslims , are united against Islamic extremists and associated terrorism which you appear to equate with Truth.
I hope I have misunderstood you.

Who'd have thought that a religion that expanded so violently and is based on violent repression of other faiths would be so disliked? This must be a sign that it's God's Truth! Or it's a sign that Islam's belligerent & intolerant nature is coming back to bite it; but we won't mention that for fear of being 'Islamophobic'

I would honestly be very surprised if more than 20-25% of American Hindus voted for Trump - I imagine we'll get some stats on it eventually.

I found stats!

So the 2016 National Asian American Survey's results are in - the Indian respondents were 54% Hindu. Among those Indian respondents, 7% supported Trump. Even if we assume that ALL that 7% comes from the Hindus, that'd be 13% supporting him. Of Indian Americans (including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians etc of course) last time around, 16% went for Romney.

There are lots of anecdotal stories about how the Indian Americans are going in waves to Trump, but I haven't seen stats on that yet, although it may well be supported when more up to date statistics come out.
