Faith without works is dead, Although Jesus was perfect. We should do our best to do his will. I think it was Paul who said "Folllow me as I follow Christ

I would say that Christians should both believe in god but follow the teachings as you see them. Some people have different views on things. All in all i would say to belive in Him and follow his teachings.

You have to believe in God, you also must believe His teachings. One reason Jesus came to us was to teach us how to live our lives. So not only do we believe in Him, but follow Him with all our hearts and obey Christ's commands. He taught us how to love one another and that is how we should treat one another is with love.

Just believing in Jesus is not enough for even the devil believes in Jesus. What we as Christians need to do is try to act as Jesus as best we can. We each have a gift and we need to use that gift to promote the message of Christ the best we can.

What did Christ teach? Love God, Love everyone else. (From NetDoc. :jam: ) Follow these to rules is all you need to do to be a Christian. A good Christian. Everything else will fall into place. :D

Christ taught a lot more than that, but you're right in that all the teachings flow from these two commandments.

I agree. And if you truely love God, you will seek his word.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

Jesus came to earth for 2 reasons - to live a perfect life for us and to suffer and die on the cross for our sins. We are to believe that Jesus died and was resurrected in payment for our sins. It's not a question of 'What would Jesus do', but 'What DID Jesus do".

Sure, we are to try to be 'good' but that's never going to get us into heaven, because we cannot possibly be perfect as God commands us to be. Faith saves - not works.

Personally, I think forgiveness is a big part of loving one's neighbor. Obviously some will disagree.

I agree more then you'll ever know. I think this is the key to what God wants us to do. If God will forgive someone like me who does not deserve it, I can forgive anyone who wrongs me. To forgive is to show true love. It's the whole point of Christ...

i think that one can belive in Christ and not follow him...you see it every day (christians going to war....JESUS WOULD NOT AGREE WITH THAT).

but yes i think that christians need to FOLLOW his teachings, that way the world would be a better place.

I would say that you can't truly believe in Christ and not follow his teachings.
Perhaps; If you assert that you are a follower of Jesus Christ, but don't obey what he has taught you signify that your assertion is untruthful; a better way to state your thought perhaps?
